I personaly could care less what the brand name is. As long as the gauges are accurate and easy to read nothing else really matters. The prices on the ProSports seam to be really good. I also noticed an oil cooler with internal thermostat for less than $400 from them. Thats a really good price. I'll take another look at Autometer but I think the full sweap electric setups are pretty close to defi/hks prices but I could be wrong.

Just found some info while searching ProSport Gauges. I geuss They are quite accurate from the begining but after about 4-5000km they start to crap out or not read accuratly. CobrAA, I'll be PMing you about the STRi Group Buy.

AutoMeter makes great products, despite what others may think. Just because it was made in the USA, doesn't mean it's crap. I trust AutoMeter (20+ years of experience) over ProSport, STRI, GlowShift and all the new companies coming out. AutoMeter's products are very accurate, they last a long time, come in a variety of different styles, and have the R&D and proven race use to back them up. Just my opinion though. For the record, DEFI makes gorgeous gauge sets, they're pricey, but they look very nice and are an accurate, functional meter as well. Again, all depends on what you really like !
but it's still autometer and I wouldn't put them on any of my cars...

Right, don't take my post personally, that's just your opinion, and I can respect that 100%, to each his own .

However, as I previously mentioned, their products are not "crap" by any sense of the word. It wouldn't be just to say they are crappy instruments, when in reality, they're well-made and of a more than substantial quality...quite a few of their series aren't only functional, but very pretty to look at too imo .

Unfortunatly Autometer doesn't make any metric gauge sets. Otherwise I'd look into them further. I also asked CobrAA about the STRi GB and its not metric either. I'm sure I could get used to the different measurement but I don't want to.

i havent had any good expeiriences with autometer, went through 3 boost gauges and the readings seemed pretty un-acurate.

i like defi and blitz but the cost is realy high

i fyou want defis on a budget, check out the newer model 'racer gauge'

52mm, instead of the typical 60mm that defi always makes, and they are priced a lot better.

Im going with Speedhut gauges on my Z since I had trouble with Prosports before they have a tendency to have the needle a bit over the zero on many of their gauges . The other thing is i wanted to have red on black gauges I didnt wanted to pay for the DEFI since you need a ******* controller and the price is way to high for no reason i guess the JDM tax applys here .

These are cheaper and don't require a control unit like the other gauges but the total cost of 4 gauges still comes close to $900.

HKS Sells exactly what I want in a package for about 700 dollars. I will take a look at SRi still just to see if the prices are comparable or not.

Speedhuts look OK but they are still not metric. Too bad.
