The only way they're gonna get my Skyline is to pry it from my cold dead hands. I think it's a bunch of horseshit that these guys are losing their cars. The US is soooo ****** up right now they are grabbing at straws to try and save their own ass from extinction. The US government has been screwing its citizens for decades now, and nobody has the balls to stand up and fight. Not only are they screwing themselves, but they are trying to take the rest of the world down with them. Seizing JDM's is not the way to fix the problem, having car manufacturers that actually produce their own product is a start. I was in China last year for 3 weeks and in that time I saw more GM pieces of **** than any other car, so tell me why a company like that needs a bailout. They should have let it die like the ******* dinosaur it is and move on. So it's a Skyline, big effin deal. Just because it's basically an import (no more, no less), don't ostracize me for owning one and being responsible with it.
Rant over, sorry guys this topic just really burns my ass.

Theres no arguing that Carter They have way bigger problems that they could be putting finances into, but they dont, so thats the way it is. Doesnt matter if its just a car, it is marked as an illegal import boys, very simple to follow. Don't like it? move to canada.

Just wondering how they register and insure illegal imports. There is more to this story than what's being said. I work in the auto industry as a mechanic, and there is no way on hell I would sign off on an illegal car. It would cost me my career. Even a newer model American market car has to meet Canadian standards before an out of country inspection can be passed. There's tons of Canuks buying US cars and importing them into Canada, so basically illegal cars cause they don't pass Canadian safety standards and are much newer then the 15yr rule. I guess I just don't understand why a car is such a big deal, there's way worse things to worry about.

Its legal to Import Most cars from the USA into Canada.. im not sure what your referring to here..

Surprisingly enough, all of the US/Skyline hassles can be traced back to Mercedes Benz. Years ago there was a problem of people importing their own MB straight from Germany and saving some cash over going to a US dealer. The US dealers complained they were losing money, so MB put up the money to lobby congress, and the next thing you know it's damn near impossible to import anything newer than 25 years old.
