Here's a Golf, I was suppose to do a 2-step detail on this car. The detail start like it should be with a quality hand was with foam gun.

    Foam gun

    Cleaning wheel

And then comes the times to polish the car.. A surprise will happens. Initial condition of the hood.

So, I do my 2-step polishing and look how horrible the paint is!! So much holograms.

Here's my theory ; The owner just bought this car off someone, overall the car looked clean, so I'm guessing the previous owner paid to have it detailed but like 95% of ''detailer'' out there, he did a shitty job like I always see. So by polishing out the hood like this, I removed all his filler glaze he must have used to make the car look good but by removing these fillers now I happens to see the REAL condition of the paint.

Whatever the reason, I simply can't leave that hood like this, but I had to call the owner to tell him I couldn't detail his car for the price I quote him and I couldn't do the job in one day, I needed 2 days to complete the work. At the end, he was happy of my honesty and the fact I didn't let his hood like that! Below you can see the final correction!

6 month later, when I think about THAT day... might have been my worst day ever.. seriously, I can't believe I've been able to complete that car that day. Oh well.. I did, took more times but still got it done haha.

So basicly the job was what I call a winter protection. it consist of:

    Wash
    Clay
    Wheel detailed
    Scellant

Not a lot of pictures because, like I said, I found out something and I wasn't feeling good.

However, you can see the clay bar on this car was mandatory !!

And here's some after-shot. the look improved a little, that's for sure. but when I do a winter protection without polish, the goal is more to protect than look. so here it is.

Sask.. I don't think it's worth doing it in car. more like train.. How much can it cost? 150$ ?

Then, let say I stay in sask for 3-4 days. Everyday, Let's put 30$ for foods and 50-60$ for a cheap ass motel.

So you would need ( you and everybody from around moose jaw) to split all these costs + my price for every detailing job. and I can't see why it couldn't be done.

Another thing is that someone will have to be kind enought to let me use his driveway or garage( if it's raining) to detail everybody cars.

I'm actually thinking about doing it with my ontarians friends this summer but if it's worth it, I will do it in sask too. I mean, as long as I'm breaking even with my expense and details, why wouldn't I be down to visit for ''free'' the rest of canada?

Polishing the bug deflector, see this is what I call detailing, taking care of the small details.

    After

These sections are impossible to be done with a machine so I try my best to remove the oxydation and hand polish these areas.

Note how wet it look! And there’s no wax haha

    | Finishing Touch |

I let the wax haze while I finish detailing the wheels and windows.

    And tadam!

Go back to the beginning, the difference is shocking!!

For a 11year old truck that go everywhere, let me tell you, I think I couldn't do any better than this!!

    Car soap
    2 bucket with grit guard
    Natural Sea Sponge
    Riccardo clay bar
    APC+ for wheel
    Wheel brush.

    Initial condition :

See, how dirt that truck was haha!

Drying the car with high quality microfiber towel that reduce to the minimum swirls.

    Correction :

Before: take a look careful at how oxided/faded the clear is!

After: Now you see how crips is that red!? Major difference!

Here's a 50/50. Right side has been corrected and left side was untouched, you can see the left side is slightly pinkish.

    White Skyline GTR

It's cool to put love on his built but some love on the paint is cool too! I will let frank gives his own opinion about the job, he might post something on his epic built thread too lol!

So you might have already commented on how clean his car was or seen his pictures on the calendar but I can say there's a little me inside this clean GTR

    Anyhow, here's my job:

    Times: about. 3h30 - 4 hours.

    - 2 wash bucket with grit guard method
    - Meg Shampoo+
    - Wheel brush
    - Meguiars wash mitt
    - MF drying towel
    - Meg's QD with Ricardo blue clay bar everywhere
    - Meg 1-step polishing
    - Hand polishing with Wolfgang applicator
    - Wheel sealant
    - DP Max Wax
    - Glass cleaner with glass towel.
    - Tires dressed with Autoglym

I certainly must have forgetting something but oh well.. lol!

Condition of the car: Very dusty, so I had to use more soap in order to have a more lubricated solution to avoid scratching the paint. Car didn't move for the past 4 months. Some parts like side skirt and front bumper were removed because they are beeing repainted.

Oh yeah and the owner loves to track his WHITE GTR = Lots lots of brake dust everywhere!

See, what I told you about brake dust ? even wheel are white LOL!

Little rusted contaminants .. yes this car need a major clay bar job!

Here you can see my 2 wash bucket method with grit guard.

    Here's some 50/50 shot.

    .

So, I tried some polish and pad combination until I found out the best combination that would end up with good reflection and a good correction. I'm very pleased with the correction for a 1-step polishing. It show that the paint was in good shape under it's 2 inch thick of dust and brake dust !!

Test spot was done with Brinkmann Dual spotlight.

Look perfect! Actually, it look like an arena haha ( all the hockey player will know what I’m talking about)

    .

    Now, enjoy the after-shot!!

Freshly waxed under this light, the paint look like an ice!

Remember the condition of the wheel and now look at this shine! Sick

No, I didn’t forget under the spoiler .

    Enjoy!
