Well I guess because whoever did those welds did'nt do ours. WTF kind of question is that?

      Beautiful welds though.

I guess what I was getting at was, why wasn't your cage TIG welded?

If it doesn't NEED to be TIG'd, why would it be? MIG is cheaper, easier, and faster. A good quality MIG welder would do just fine for a mild-steel cage.

            Yeap your totally right.

Most people who get cages done by us opt for TIG welding over MIG.

            Just sayin.

Oh no doubt. It's prettier IMO when done right. But to each their own.
I'm just saying that structurally... not a big deal. Although if I was welding tube to PLATE I would be using TIG.

That is correct, not a street car.

                      It is a $3900 cage.

                      Thanks

the cage looks very well designed.

i've not seen many mig welded cages. it must make it much easier to do in those tight spots. plus, you could probably do it in half the time it would take to tig it all together.

i need to get a bender.

Nice cage, and I have seen quite a few as my good friend builds cages on the west coast. Oddly, not all motorsport bodys like TIG as it takes a different skill set that most home builders don't have. Mig is just easier.
