One thing I know for sure, I enjoy beating newer, more refined cars on track days!
I know what you mean Dan. Schooled a guy in a new GT3 at the last Porsche Club event by about 4 seconds. He left half way through the event in a bit of a huff.

The R33 is faster because of it's brakes. The R32 was limited to 16" wheels due to racing regs. This limited the size of brakes it could have. The R33 isn't a homoligated race car, or I don't think it is. It didn't have wheel restrictions so they could use larger brakes.

Tire sizing and technology also played a role in the R33 having faster recorded times.

I have no doubt an R32 with Brembo brakes, 17"+ wheels with decent tires would beat a similar equiped R33

Even if the R33 GTR was much faster then the the R32 GTR you couldnt pay me enough to drive one of those whales. Counting down the days until the R34 is available though.

Having worked with and around A LOT of 32's and 33's, I would take the 33 in a heart beat. Dont ask me why but I gravitate to it 9 times out of 10.

It is as quick (if not quicker - oe vs oe) than the 32 and is much more comfortable.

Stock vs stock, the R35 is faster than the R32. I know from experience as I have raced against stock R35s with my lightly tuned R32 a few times. As for other models, everytime I race R33s or R34s they are ridiculously modded, so it doesn't compare.

The R33 is a lot more advanced then the R32. Even thought is was too long and slightly heavier.

it all comes down to the track (to have a timed reference). on the nurburgring, the R35 is hella faster stock for stock. why, cause top speed and HP in this case counts.
the supension, brakes AND tires stock for stock also makes a huge difference.
while stock R32 had a 8:3x and R34 ha 8:01 if I remember correctly, the track is huge. On a short track were weight matters more than HP's, the r32 could be faster. ex: here in Quebec, the st-eustache course has many FWD civics with around 200hp that are faster than most 300+ cars.
                        factors are:
                        #1: damn good drivers
                        #2: racing tires
                        #3: weight
                        #4: power

many are close to the 1:00:00 mark while ligthly modded GTR (and me(and Opus hehhe) ) are in the 1:03.1 region.... with street tires.

                          Watch this videoclip, even a modded R32GTR struggles against a stock R35GTR and modded R33GTR, R34GTR -

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

R33, R34 are fairly even with 600hp, 1600kg, but R35GTR can keep up in stock trim. R32GTR is seriously handicapped.

If you modded R35GTR the same way as R33, R34 (just like GOTO R35GTR with 757awhp) R33, R34 would have been overtaken on the straight.

A stripped, caged R32 GTS-T with roughly 314rwhp runs a 1:01 around same racetrack with traffic on racetrack.

Give me 5+ years and I hope my R32 is going to be as I imagine her, and that I'll beat your R33... Maybe my custom engineering will include some of my breakthrough nanofluid research? It just sucks that it's in the shape it is right now and that it's not gonna be any better for the next years. You're gonna help me with my new parts next summer I hope?

I've read that the rear geometry of the R33 totally revised from R32. I vaguely remember that R32 geometry would have too much bushing loading and that's why people get a lot of harmonic vibration from R32s that were thrown around in corners.

Just to get this out there; my favorite car has always been the R32!

I'll say, the R32 even has 4.36 gears in it, he had to shift into 5th at 200km/h, I don't need to untill 240km/h. I think that R32 was seriously underpowered, he should have run away from all of them on the long back straight. The ATESSA was doing funny things too, he was blowing the rear tires off coming out of the tighter turns, being underpowered he should have been able to bury the throttle at the apex and point/shoot the car.

Seeing the R34 and the R33 from a distance together I can really see what all the "whale" comments are all about, they look HUGE.

Don't need to wait much longer boys.

Why would they even compare a 400hp R32 to a 600hp R33/R34?...there's just no point. The R32 isn't even close to being up to par with the other.

                                That's like trying to compare a stock GTS-T to a stock GTR...lol
