Why I'm here: I'm sure you guys have been getting a lot of this. I'm from the US and I'm excited to see these cars legal here in 2014. I'm a big car guy and always have been. I own a '92 Galant VR-4 (very rare in the states) and my brother owns an s12 so I am familiar with Nissans and Japanese cars in general. Being so close to Canada, I figured I might be able to take advantage of my situation and cheat the system a little bit. It's no secret that in 2014 folks from the states will be paying a premium to get legal 1989 Skylines. I will (hopefully) be in my first year of law school in 2014, which means I will be flat broke. My plan is to sell my Galant and purchase either a shell, or running/driving car after I graduate (summer of 2013), and store it in Canada (legally) until the summer of 2014. I figure if I can scrape together around $10000 I will probably be able to get what I want, but in all likelihood I won't be able to get that cash together. Luckily I'm a very capable mechanic (many engine swaps/full restorations on the 4g63 Mitsubishi platform) so I figure it will be more likely for me to be able to get a shell for relatively cheaply and get the engine I want, and build it up separately. This brings me to the second reason I'm here: knowledge. As I stated I'm knowledgeable when it comes to cars and I understand what engine/drivetrain came with which version of the 1989 Skyline thanks to Wikipedia, but I'm not sure what engines and drivetrains are compatible. For example, I know that any turbo 6 bolt 4g63 can work perfectly fine in any FWD or AWD Galant VR-4/Eclipse/Talon/Laser with the right transfer case, rear end, driveshaft and transmission, but I have no idea what can go into a Skyline. Can an AWD drivetrain be installed in a RWD skyline? Could I use the AWD drivetrain from a GTS-4 with an RB26dett? Is AWD even the most desirable form of this car or do most people prefer RWD? These are all questions I would like answered!! So to sum up, reason 1: I'm in the market for a 1989 Skyline. Reason 2: I need some knowledge! Any advice, or help will always be greatly appreciated!

I have a 1990 R32 GTS-T. I've been having a few problems with it recently and other than my friend helping me out, I thought I would search this place up for parts that I need.

I am a retired Rally guy - owned about 40 Datsun 510's over the years for ice racing and rallying. I crashed a few and had much fun rebuilding them and sold my last one last year - 2011. I never owned a GTR but a friend of mine in Calgary had one and it was a blast to ride in ( he was from Quebec - it helps to come from somewhere with no traffic laws ).
I am also a stamp collecter so if you have made a stamp of your GTR I would love to get a copy of it for my collection just send to Box 333 in Candle Lake Saskatchewan S0J 3E0 and I will get it. I look forward to the info and the cars.
                          Cheers

Reason for coming to this site: I am looking for something new to do in my life. Right now I am attending college in completion for my computer engineering degree. I own a 1989 Toyota Cressida with a 1JZ swap considering this was my first car; I didn't know anything about this car at first so it caught my eye when I was in high school when I was on the bus... Saw it.. Bought it.. 25 days later I found out the engine was blown so basically got crapped on.. Learned the hard way. But needless to say this was a point in my life when I started getting interested in what is what in cars and what's good etc. So I got the engine replaced by buying the same engine that was in it before.. (Someone was racing this car before I had it... I know that.) But anyway, after I replaced the motor it has ran good up to this very day which is about 4 1/2 years. I have gotten alot of feedback on my car about it being a drifting type of car. But with this car being my prize possession and a one of a kind rare car to get.. I am looking to add another car to my collection.. A project that I have no knowledge of.. I want to build up a Nissan Skyline R34 VSPEC II from Shell to full completion.. So I am here on this site to hopefully find a shell with everything out of it.. and just the frame and I will go from there. But if I can find a shell with a few additional parts.. I wouldn't mind that at all.. I would love anyone's opinion about Nissan Skylines... I know they are rare.. but I want to own one and prove to my family and friends that I can build a car of my own.. I already have the base knowledge of the engines and transmissions I can locate for this car. Just the interior with the steering wheel on the right side is what scares me about driving that in the United States. Let me know what you think!!! Thanks for reading this if you do!! Looking to buy from someone at some point hopefully!! God bless!!
