My Kakimoto passes 93db JASMA. They can shove their noise tickets up their ass. I have a creamier exhaust tone than the neon I saw today with a 90° right bend for it's fart can, that's for sure.

Yes, I'm in a bad mood, ******ucking rear tierod ends have too much play, cant drive her without eating the tires. I'm going back to Moncton without her since it's my last week over here.

This has got me thinking, how can an unnecessary noise ticket be issued when skyline are just as bad if not lighter than harleys, ninjas, and factory exhausts on some high end exotics. I can hear the crotch rockets ripping from blocks away, rarely skylines/supras....hmm

^^ unfortunately bike laws are different.
I would like to see an actual DB limit, and cops with DB meters like in Japan. Then at least we'd know what we are dealing with rather than cops randomly deciding what is loud and what is not.

Bikes are a bit different. As annoying as some of those Harleys can be, loud pipes save lives. Bikes are small and can come out of no where if you're not paying attention, but with the baffles out, you sure can hear them to know they're there.

Cars it's a bit of a different story. I totally agree with Daryl on officers armed with DB meters. I mean, basically every Skyline I've ever heard (track cars not included) has sounded nice while idling/driving casually. So I don't get why a lot of officers feel the need to issue noise tickets to vehicles like that when there are Civics/Neons/Etc. with ear drum blowing fart cans racing around in 2nd gear and getting away scott-free with it

^^ agreed, and another group of people who I'm sure would appreicated clearer laws...the courts. I had a friend who gets around 5 exhaust tickets per year, and he goes to court for every one, and they have all been thrown out of court. Stupid things like this tying up the courts and costing taxpayers money is ridiculous.
If you remember Darknights years ago, the cops staked out McCowan Rd, and pulled over everyone, giving out piles of tickets. The reason they did it was to show the newspapers "We gave out 500+ tickets today, look at all these illegal cars." In reality probably 90% of those tickets were thrown out of court. A fantastic waste of resources and taxpayer money.

Ahh that makes complete sense, I can hear my dads harley from literally a km away, always wondered why cars are different. Well there goes my arguement

You can have a stupid loud car, just drive it accordingly. If you have a straight pipe, you don't have to take it to 4500 on every shift. The guys on Harleys are constantly cracking the throttle, it's annoying and makes them look 12. Apparently my car is loud (I've never heard it being driven with anger so I can't comment on how loud it actually is) but I just drive normally with normal throttle and 3000rpm shifts, sometimes lower.

I don't understand how everyone gets exhaust noise tickets, are they shifting at high rpm in every gear, or what?

I feel the exact same way... Unless youre shifting at 4500+ You really shouldnt have any issues unless you have a Maxwell house can on the back... I personally believe it comes back alot to stereotypes. When a cop sees a fairly you guy in any import car with a load exhaust he will be far more likely to pull him over then the 55 year old man in his Ferrari 360 with a Tubi exhaust which may infact be louder
                            I drive a Honda...

^^ correct. It's all about profiling and image. If you see two guys walking down the street, one guy is wearing a suit, and one guy is wearing hip hop clothes, if a cop is looking for someone who was causing trouble, who would he stop?
It's a sad thing, but the police do profile and judge people.
The insurance companies are 100 times worse though. They can legally discriminate between males and females, where you live, and your age. Incredible we still let them get away with it.

Anyways, follow all laws, and don't act like a bonehead and most likely the police will never even look your way. Whether you are driving a GT-R or a Ferrari, you are going to get pulled over either way if you are driving like an idiot.

Very true!! I got Tanabe exhaust on my G37 coupe and it is noticeably louder than my GT-R but I was never hassled or even get a second look from the cops. In the Skyline I always get followed by cops even get an exhaust tickets for "looking" too loud LOL. I still have Catalytic converter and Fujitsubo exhaust which is very quiet.
