It's also a time constraint. I have techs at workthat do ecus so they could prob do it for me.

I'm guessing some of the ecus don't come docketed from factory and others do? Am I right? Static equipment is easy enough you just get a strap that grounds you to the ecu or you could try and be lucky and touch the ecu till yours grounded and then pull it apart. I already have the soldering equipment. I dunno. Just trying to save myself some money. Mike what would you recommend. The nistune website makes it look simple.FINAL CLEARANCE! Guys, I'm going to put in a pre-order with Nistune right now for 10 units to get us rolling!
I'll be replying to everyone's PMs as fast as I can, but if you want to get your order in right away, we're now a free phone call across Canada and the US! The group buy will remain on until the 10 units are sold!

To order, you will need the 2-digit code off the colored sticker on your ECU (I.e. "BH", "CC", "TJ", "22", "CJ", "5T", "UU", "UW", etc). The code will ensure that the Nistune board is pre-loaded with the correct ROM file for your car!FINAL CLEARANCE! EVERYTHING MUST GO NOW!

Fuel map can be roughly done on the road via Nistunes autotune A/F feature + wideband, then finetune on dyno. That's if you know what A/F ratio it's meant to be at high, low load zones, high, low revs.
Ignition timing has to be done on a dyno, as you can't see the results of adjusting ignition timing on torque, power graphs on the road. Also need a good knock detection device to know if you push ignition timing too far.
The docs on Nistune website cover only a fraction of what you need to know when retuning a engine and from what I can remember, they do state that in one of their documents. It's best left to a experienced ECU tuner like Ztune that have a dyno and associated equipment.RESPONSE MONSTER
