$300 for essentially a socketted ECU is pretty steep...

Considering it costs $300 to get the Socketing done alone at most places....no, no it's NOT steep.....and PLEASE DON'T REPLY WITH "But I can socket it myself"....because SOME PEOPLE CAN NOT, so it is a good deal.

Consider paying for the socketting and getting a free/spare ECU.

i get ecu's socketed by this old guy that does tv repair.... $25 a whack.... and the chips are like $20 a pop.... so your looking at $45 for an 8bit and $65 for a 16bit....but than again.... rb26 ecu's are costly to begin with..... but if someone has a similar setup and can run your tune this would be a great deal

Can you get one socketed for me and sell it to me for $20 + the cost of an RB26 ECU then ?
What do you think the overall cost could be then ? ECU + $20, what is the ECU Cost ?

Well, a 'generic' tune (limiters removed etc I am sure nothing more....all the same 'tunes' sold as well probably) is $200 from a Forum Sponsor:

$300 for a Basic Tune/Chipped RB26 ECU is not all that bad.
The seller should list his MODs and if they are basic enough (exhaust, intake filters, higher boost on stock turbos) it would be no different than running a JDM ECU that comes in most cars that has been tuned in Japan....only safer and tuned to OUR Octane - so probably better overall.

Seller, list your 'Tuned for Mods' to see if it generates anymore interest.

GTR ECU is what - $150 max?
Yep I'll get it socketted for you for $20
And I'll give you a delimitted chip for $20
                So thats $190 (max)
Hell I'll give you a killer GTR Stage 1 tune for $50, and you are STILL way cheaper.

Thank you to help me guys!

                  look the price on almasituning.com
He is the reference in Gtr nissan tuning in Quebec.
He is a realy realy good tuner.
He got teh best dyno on the market.

I am shure that my price is correct.

My setup was full exhaust 3.5 inches, downpipe hks, stock manifold,
stock dump pipe, sard 550cc injectors, hks gt2530 turbos on dyno at 15psi.
94 octane (downtuned vs 102 octane japannese fuel).

note : when i am talking about a tuning , I am talking about a real tuning !!! 3 hours on dyno + 4 hours of ajustment and installation. the curve was very smoot and the tuning was very safe with a very good response.
It was a professional tuning and not a "generic" tuning!!

This computer was tested and tuned on a dyno!
                  installation cost.....
                  computer cost,
socket installed and soldered on the ecu board,
                  removable chip installed on socket
                  all circuit tested.
it is easy to scrap an ecu just by heating a little bit too much a ground
plate. so just ask to the first use TV seller to install it if you want guys.

I agree with JD74 here.. the price is somewhat fair.

                    Think of it this way:
Stock GTR ECU from japan is:
Parts no: 2371M-05U60, applicable to RB26 engine manufactured between 08/91-04/92 at least starting at 20,000YEN+Shipping+custom fees.

Chip and ECU reprogram from Takeda is merely:
                    http://www.getjdmcars.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=document_general_info&cPath=75 &products_id=653

So the choice is yours, again not trying to bash on this guy's thread but i think its reasonably priced.

Its reasonably priced now that he posted the mods its tuned for. In his first post he said it basically needed to be redone. Thats not such a good deal.
