  • RB30 Short Block + Parts + RB26 Head

    Price Drop: 4000 OBO

    Essentially it consists of:

    • RB26 Head (had some detonation marks on the quench pads. still seems like it's in good condition).
    • RB26 Jun Cam gears (first version- vintage! :-P)
    • Almost every nut, dowel, bolt, washer, thingamajig, doohicky in brand new nissan bags for RB25/26/30 block (mix and match required) - direct from Nissan Japan. There are doubles and triples of certain parts here. All new.
    • RB30 block with crank, pistons, rods from original SOHC motor still inside. Untouched. No SOHC head.
    • SFI approved Romac RB30 Aluminum Balancer
    • New Waterpump and Waterpump pulley (Standard, not N1).
    • RB30 Crank Collar to fix oil pump drive issues (Not installed)
    • RB30 SPOOL Australia Connecting Rods with ARP2000 Rod Bolts
    • ACL Race Bearings coated by Calico Coatings with their CT-1 Oil Retaining coating (Actually coated by Calico themselves, not just using their products)
    • ARP Head and Main Stud packages
    • Lightweight 11lb Flywheel, not SFI approved, but Japan made. Could be inspected for 18.1 SFI approval.
    • Gates T291 Timing belt required for DOHC RB30 operation (not the HD version, that is 4 times the price, and can be ordered online).

Hmmm. the list goes on. I'm positive I'm missing like one-hundred and one things from this list that I have. I was prepping this engine for mid-teen compression ratio to run Naturally Aspirated. . . If I don't sell it I'll just hold on to it and build it as time goes by. But it's really a good chance to get an engine and a lot of parts that not a lot of people would be able to piece together themselves.

All you would need to do is spec some pistons for your build (turbo or n/a), select a good oil pump, do some head work and put the collar on the crank (machinist job), and purchase a "Conversion" gasket kit (Nissan's name for full gasket kits), or even misc gaskets and an MLS headgasket. I believe I have the original RB26 Camshafts too. I sold the JUN ones I had.

You will need to assemble this motor yourself. I also have a manual that can help you with that, straight from Australia for the Holden VL Commodore which the RB30 block came from.

No Trades. I'm not interested in anything you have unless it's gold, silver, or money.

I'm not sure what I want to get for something like this, but when someone says the magic number I'm sure I'll know.

I've had someone bite at 4500, but they ran into a family health emergency. I guess whatever it was cost a lot more money than 4500 in medical bills in the US.

        So I'll say 4500 OBO

There are a lot of misc parts. I'm going to see if I can put together some pics or a short list of things inside the box. Ideally, one would have some Arias or CP RB30DET pistons as they're available off the shelf in 2 or 3 different compression ratios. Maybe a Nitto Oil pump. And some head work, and this thing is ready to go together with the rest of your GTR parts.

IMHO, I don't think that price is unfair considering an RB26 is about 3000 give or take.

Jon. I am willing to ship and willing to work on the price depending on how much shipping costs. But I would need some assistance in coordinating the shipping. I can build a nice pallet and pack everything up securely. It's nothing you have to worry about. I'm not here to screw anyone out of money or a motor. Only to see this thing go to a good home. It was going to go into my S30 with a 13+ compression ratio, N/A... which is why I sold my Wiseco Pistons I had for it. They were low-comp turbo spec.

In fact, I bought 3 of these blocks off Ted Deseagher here on the forums (i can't remember his screen name). Anyways. He royally screwed me on parts and didn't own up to his mistakes or misguided approach at shipping- so I would like to undo what he cost me and successfully sell this to someone with as much info as they require to feel safe about the purchase.

The other two blocks were successfully transported to Detroit, where one lives in a GMC Typhoon/Sonoma, and the other is going into a Z31.

The rods come with the ARP2000 bolts. They are genuine SPOOL rods from Australia.
The white box beside the ARP head stud box is for the main stud kit from VPW Australia.
The Timing Belt is a Gates T291, which is the same as the Dayco 94407 or whatever. I did the research and found multiple interchangeable belts that work. That is one of them.
The two red boxes are the Calico CT1 Coated bearing sets.
The Balancer is a Romac Aluminum Outer, Steel Inner version, with damper.
Waterpump is standard Nissan, with brand new pulley.
Flywheel is actually for an RB20DET, I was going to run a FS5W71C transmission on this thing because it was going to be a high-comp N/A build.
Some of the bagged bits are for the head as well.
                Stainless 302SS Header Flanges.
Someone told me the cam gears are JUN because he had the same set. They look exactly like them.
The stock cams that come with the head need to either be polished or can be good for a core set for regrinds. I am not a cam expert so I'm unsure. I sold the HKS cams I had.
Cylinders 2 and 3 took most of the detonation damage. If you're building a high horspower build, when you do head work you'd be removing the quench pads anyways. Otherwise, a slight resurface just to take down the high spots will be fine. The detonation marks aren't going to make you lose power.
I don't have pics of the block, but it's in good condition. I can take some on Monday.
Everything fits in a rubbermaid tote, so shipping will only consist of a half pallet with the tote and the engine beside.

                Open to offers.

Well if u do decide to part it im pretty much interested in the whole head.spool rods. All stuff. bolts and washes and from the rb30 block id just want through crank cause mine was damaged. so youll just be left with the rb30 and stock piston and rods.which u could sell for a good 1500. btw it would be shipped to nj or id meet u after the border of Canada.lol. always wanted to go to Canada.lol. think about it and pm me with ur number to talk if u decide. btw is that from a r31 or holden vl commodore. i have the r31

cant sell an RB30 block, pistons, and rods for 1500 without the crank.
why not just take the whole thing and have a spare :-)

Sooooo.. buy them from an ARP dealer?
This is not a part-out sale.

I WILL accept trades. But I'm not really sure what I'm interested in as far as that goes.
If some non-skyline specific parts are offered, or something else that I find cool- I will consider it.
doesn't have to be car related.

                            I have a Z31, so I really can't do much with skyline-specific parts.

So non related offer, not meaning to offend just off your quote. I'm not sure your age or where you live this is just a general - Hey, I found this interesting maybe you will to?

I got a full Aquaponics set up .... not sure about Aquaponics? I combined Hydroponics and Aquaponics to create a self sustaining balanced ecosystem. I grow food and farm fish with it. It's just a small 6x8 system though it can produce enough food for 2 maybe 3 people (Select foods can explain if interested) and 50lbs of tilapia a year. (Can be expanded to accommodate a larger yield, yeild is measured from experience here in Victoria, BC. My choice of fish it can be changed to another species dep. on region and climate) My custom system would cost off the internet easily 4-6+.

If your interested that's great shoot me a reply I can supply pics of how it currently sits and is running. If not I just introduced you to something that may peak your interest farther in life

                              Cheers, Cody
