The CAW is simply stupid for continually pressuring the auto manufacturers for higher wages and less work.

    They did it to themselves.
Very true. I didn't get into Unions though cuz i didn't figure it was as relivent to the coalition. But the Union certainly is part of the problem in it's own way. Good proof of this is Toyota, Honda and Nissan seam to be doing OK. Sure Profits have been reduced significantly, but they arn't tied to the expensive Union and pension plans like the Big 3 are so there is no massive Layoffs. Of course we are over simplifying the problem here and all auto companies will suffer to some degree, but seams like all the import brands are way more prepared for this than Ford, Chev and Dodge.

Hahaha, Agreed. For those who don't know:

Right Wing - Capitlism, free market, reduced regulation

Left Wing - Socialism, central gov't programs, increased regulation

My preference is Slightly right of center. Free market, responsable individuality and just enough regulation to keep the criminals and greedy at bay. Therefore Conservatives be my Choice!

Bush is a mindless puppet of the religious right and Cheney, whose politics border on the far right.

I'd agree with that. I don't think Bush is purposely screwing americans. He has the right intentions with all the wrong info. That being said the current ecinomic situation isn't quite his governments fault. They could have reacted sooner but changes to the banking regulations were made during the Clinton administration that led to the problems we have now. I say "we" cuz were getting draged down with them.

I like how a Haitian immigrant now basically controls the fate of out country.

I'm all for an election, the coalition is bullsh1t, and Harper's prorogue if the coalition succeeds is bullsh1t.

Vote Now!! Let Canadians decide the fate of Canada.

                  Vote Now!!

This might be the table-topper the Conservatives need to persuade some soft Liberals into changing sides...Vote Now!!!, let's make this a majority government!

Let's get Prince Rupert an oil pipeline!! and let's start selling the Chinese our oil!! Vote Now!!!

I'd support another election. 300 + million is a small price to pay compared the the 30 billion proposed for the auto industry. You just need to look at one of my previous posts to see how I feel about that.

Anyone see the emergency brodcast by all the party leaders. This is stressing me out. Stephen Harper, for the most part, made a good speech. I would say he stressed "sepretists" a bit too much and his speech writers should have fixed a few minor errors before brodcast. That being said, Harper was the only one to outline his current and future plans for the economy. Everyone else focused on winning us over on the Coalition. Harper even stressed that he made changes to the mini budget to make the opposition happy. As we can see the opposition has no interest in cooperating with the current government. I'd also stress the fact that if the intention was to have a coalition, the opposition should have stated as such during the last election. Recent reports have shown proof that coalition talks have been going on for some time between the opposition parties.

My second biggest concern with tonight is the talks of the "sepretists" party known as the Bloc. Duceppe has not denide this fact but I can't help but worry that many quebec voters will not be happy with Harper. Any Quebec Members here want to let us know what your thinking?

My BIGGEST concern is the terrible reporting by all of Canada's major news stations. I watch the news for the facts, not their opinions. If want an opinion that i'll read the "opinion" columns in our news papers and on the interweb.

This crap about the coalition government is not sitting right with me at all...especially when Mr. Dion announces that he will be the head of said political formation. It scares me that Canada has someone so dim-witted as Dion running in politics.

I think Canada should be focused on the betterment of the country in times of economic downfall such as now. Creating political unrest in times such as these isn't a wise move, at least in my opinion it isn't. I cant see our economic situation getting any better than it is if this coalition goes through.

I agree with what Vdubber said, Harper was the only to really outline his present and future plans for our weakened economy.

Get ready Canada...this could be your next PM!!! Mr. Stephan Dion :hit newb:

This guy CLEARLY will not be able to confront the current problems within Canada alone if he cant deal with a relatively simple question being: "If you are the PM today, what would you have done already that Harper hasn't done?" JUST IMO though....

If the no-confidence vote goes through, all I want is a chance to vote on who forms the next government.

If another National vote is held and the Liberals win, so be it. Twisting the Constitution to launch what amounts to little more than a coup d'etat does not bode well for our country's future.

Liberals are at their lowest in decades, they have no hope of winning an election anytime soon.

Dion should have remained the Liberal head, it's a shame they cast him out...I wonder if they did so knowing this coalition was in the works.

None of this bods well for the Canadian economy, not the coalition or the prorogue.

                          Vote Now!!

PS - I missed the talks tonight, anyone care to sum it up in a nutshell? Prorogue still a go?

See my post on page 4. its very brief but you get the idea. Truth is if you have been reading the news and/or watching whats been said in the House of Commons you'll have learned nothing new.

We had a vote of non confidence not too long ago and it promted an election. There is nothing wrong with this happening and thats how Canadian democracy works. If you don't like it move to the USA.

There is no twisting going on, they are doing what they are allowed to do.
