Canadian Goverment fails. The only thing elections do is spend tax payers money... what is the point of spending millions to have the conservatives win yet again. The other partys are just dilutional, thinking they will win. Liberals had one of the worst elections in a very long time and the conservatives gained more seats... why do they think its going to be any different 3 months later?

You guys are funny. If the government over reacts like the above posts we'll all go to hell in a hand basket.
I find this current situation very interesting. We are seeing history in the making people, and there's nothing illegal about it. Its in our constitution that minority governments must act to co-operation with other parties to direct the country. When they don't (and lets face it, the Conservatives have been acting like a majority government for a while now) they must face the consequences of losing the support of the House. As I see it, Harper created all this. There's no coup. WE created this House with our votes and now they are exercising their constitutional right to replace this weak government with an alternate. Its democracy in action. 63% of Canadians voted against this Party. I'm happy to see these voters having their day in the sun. The BQ is merely agreeing to support an alternative to the Conservatives for 18 months. It has no interest in partaking in the country's management. In fact they wanted the other 2 parties to agree to recognize Qc as a nation and it was shot down prior to this agreement. I say let this happen and lets be brave enough to ride this out. Its not like we really have much to lose given whats happening globally.
BTW I voted Conservative last election. :-o

Well put John. Its sad, but the way governments get elected is by choosing the lesser of the evils. No one government can satisfy everyone. Its the same with anything in life really. I do however wish that the conservative party did not get into power the first time, as Canada is feeling more and more like another US with each passing day. I think this coalition will be good for canada.Originally posted by JZ View PostYou guys are funny. If the government over reacts like the above posts we'll all go to hell in a hand basket.
