Oh my god, WTH happened to this thread? Crist it's the internet. I think we can agree Falcon has done the right thing (as far as internet etiquette goes) by threatening to beat everyone up because of a stupid picture that has nothing to do with anyone he knows. Now can we just move on? This awesome thread is getting cluttered but useless apologies.Last edited by Joker; 03-06-2011, 11:32 PM.

Well this is a thin line...
This whole 48-page thread is basically about laughing at the misfortune of others. Yeah it's immature and disrespectful and I'm second-guessing posting that (I just googled "funny" and it was like the 5th image). Ironically it was to shift focus away from a debate and get back on thread topic but I guess that was basically moving the target from one person to another, which is still wrong. I guess I'm a hypocrite for saying I don't condone bullying whatsoever but I will say I'd much rather defend one of our own than someone unknown to everyone, which basically says I believe in priorities.
So I'm on Falcon's side about not bullying / making disrespectful comments, but at the same time GTRADDICT and Snake556 shouldn't be harassed for saying something is funny when it's funny, whether it's disrespectful or not. I mean, Falcon, you yourself have a picture of something funny because of someone's appearance in your freaking avatar... but you mean no personal disrespect to the guy right?
Can we agree that:
1) laughing at people/images we don't know of personally (e.g. "lol that pic") is acceptable on the internet and is basically a victim-less crime and we mean no personal disrespect to those depicted
2) laughing at groups of people in general (e.g. "lol handicaps/this ethnicity/etc") is unacceptable and disrespectful
3) laughing at an individual that we all know (e.g. "lol CDguy") is bullying and is disgusting behaviour by members of the forum
Everyone's got both right and wrong in what they said and there's a lot of overlap.
For example, Falcon, you might be unjustly hostile towards Snake as his comment may have fallen under agreement 1, but you took it as falling under agreement 2. If Snake commits to holding his comment under agreement 1 and personally holds nothing against your assumed agreement 2 group, you may owe him an apology. If Snake meant it as an agreement 2 comment, he is disrespectful and your comment is just.
If GTRADDICT's comment was trying to differentiate between agreement 1 and 2, and again means to disrespect to those who fall under agreement 2 (as he implied by stating "people are not laughing at the sadness or the fact that they won't have a normal life, they're mostly laughing at the funny faces ans such. There is noting wrong with a good laugh, but it has to be in the most respect of the person."), then Falcon's response to his paragraph was simply reiterating this point, and you two are actually in agreement...
I think the problem here is that Falcon used an "IF" scenario -- something that didn't happen -- which is fine but shouldn't be argued about if we all agree with the above proposed agreement because we're all actually on the same side and no one actually made a an anti-handicap or anti-Falcon's-sister comment.
Are we all in agreement?
