What's the most frustrating thing ever to happen to you while working on your Skylines?
I decided it would be a good idea to take the hood hinges off my Skyline while everything's apart and sand the rust off and paint them. But of course the front bolt on each side snapped and only the head came off. So now I've got broken studs. And a broken extractor. And I'm going to just pay the guy down the street to fix it for me cuz I'm sick of touching it. Of all the stupid sh@#t.
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

If I had a nickel for every bolt I broke that didn't even need to be removed on my GTS-T, I'd have enough money to buy a GTR.

      Oh boy..
When i first got my GTST i had it up on the jack doing engine oil, tranny oil.. general maintenance junk. After 3 hours of tinkering around and sweatin' your balls off, you start to lose it a bit, and what WAS a good idea to start with turns out pretty to be a pretty shi**y buzz 10 seconds later..

So i spin the wheel to check for any rotation flaws, bearings, warped rotors.. Next thing i know im sticking my hand inside the wheel opening to STOP the wheel. Finger gets jammed in between the wheel spoke and the caliper. We all know there's like 1/8th of an inch clearance there too with the stock wheels LOL.. Soo my nail flies off and i hear it skipping across the floor, look at my finger and my bones sticking out the end of it and the skin is just hanging there.

My nails back now, and the feeling is slowly returning after 4 months..

      I wouldn't advise doing that.
Check out the GTST Projects page and keep up to date with my build!

not a skyline but still... I was helping a friend in rebuilding the head on his talon tsi. The plan was to remove only the head and leave the longblock mounted in the engine bay. That turned out to be a stupid thing to do but live and learn. anyways, putting the head back on went fine the problem however arose when I noticed that all of the belt pulleys had been removed (I don't know who took them off but I wanted to knock them out by the end of the night). the gap between the block and the strut tower is way to small for any of of us to fit our hands let alone manipulate an allen key. after taking turns trying for an hour we ended up having to disassemble half the car i even reach the bolts and when we did, we snug them up and "TING"... yes... one of the bolts snapped. all I can say after that experience is My poor knuckles and I officially hate transverse mounted engines.

not that bad compared to some of the horror stories I've heard but It was very stressful at the time.

If I didn't buy an RX7 I would have one badass 400whp Gts-t and a **** load of money in the bank.

moral of the story? rotarys are great when they work.

                that is all.

I changed the oil filter on my GTR once. That's more difficult than anything ever. Worst place.

I Dont mean this in a negative way just, without a head its called a short block, long block includes head and manifolds. just letting ya know for next time you talk about it.

I think this should also include stupid/accidetnal stuff that we've read on here lol like:

The guy that posted about Re+Re his rear brake calipers and then after bleeding and road testing 5 times he relized that he had them upside down. That would suck!! lol.

or another guy that took his cam gear off and installed them wrong, then went and started the thing. Car turned into a parts car after that hahahah.
