  • Man I hate rotaries

    Especially this 4 rotor one

I have no real reason except for the fact that they sound terrible.
I have never driven one, but I dont care if they rev to 1.5 million or not.
    I dont like them

the idea of a 4 rotor is awsome..... ive driven a rotary , theyre pretty smooth... until they eventually blow up.... that things sounds annoying though.... its like a high pitch VTEC .... MY APEX SEALS JUST BLEW UP YO!

          this thread is stupid.
rotaries do not in fact sound terrible at all , maybe in this one case it sounds annoying but i mean function > aesthetics .
they in fact rev to 1.5 million and their power to displacement ratio is something that RB owners could only dream of . Their something to be owned by a real enthusiast who cares abotu performance and maintenance .. like new gen lotus'

EDIT : 2 rotor exige would be boner worthy
Real Skyline owners have lost at least one to a freakish accident (*- ω -) = #dungive'a

Think about it: for every turn of the crank you got 3 explosions in a rb26 (cause half the pistons are on the exhaust stroke and half on the power stroke) where in a quad rotor you got 4 rotors times 3 sides = 12 explosions ! Mucho power.

That also explains why they're a bitch on gas.

well so would anything stripped down to sheet metal with thousands upon thousands poured into the engine.

it all comes down to personal preference. For me only thing that keeps me away from rotaries is lack of knowledge in those engines and fd's been to small for me. But they're great cars. amount of time it'll take me to learn about a rotary is prolly more then making my rb 500+hp. Time is money.

I do not doubt that this may be true.

but Im also not going to suddenly start loving brussel sprouts because they are jam packed with Thiamin, Riboflavin, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, and are very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Folate, Potassium and Manganese.

Not quite right... For every 1 rotation of the e shaft there is 1 explosion per rotor. So 1 rotation in a 4 rotor would be 4 explosions. The E shaft spins 3 times for every 1 rotation of the rotor, not the other way around.

Thread fails. Scoot 4-rotor FD helped recover it a bit.

                          gah!! too many NA rotaries
think...add 5 psi boost on a very large turbo and one would gain prolly close to 150hp on either of these 4 rotors
