I have no real reason except for the fact that they sound terrible.
I have never driven one, but I dont care if they rev to 1.5 million or not.
    I dont like them
    really?

are you just trying to **** stir to try to get me to reply and into an argument?

    1) You don't like them because they sound bad
    - This is the worst excuse I've ever heard as to "why you don't like them"
    2) You haven't driven on
    - So you're comment is invalid, IF you would ever drive one you would realize it's a superior engine in drivabilit/smoothness (when running correctly) to almost anything else out there aside from V10's/V12's.
    3) You just don't like them
    - Nice... way to support your argument with GOOD HARD FACTS!

Read this and you'll understand why it's a superior engine.

The trend is understandable given the amount of blown rotary motors. Plan A, remaining unmodded,...

I love RX7s but rotaries are just too prone to blowing up, i'd never own a rotary powered rex i'd probably end up bankrupt.

I am bankrupt. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Right now my FD is on 4 jack stands, no wheels, no front or rear subframe, no suspension on any corner, no swaybars, no steering rack, no front end, no engine, no transmission and parts everywhere.

But's it's a hobby for me and keeps my busy in the garage. Learn lots a long the way that's for sure.

I've been longing for an FD lately..but there are 3 things holding me back:

-My BMW project. I'm kinda wishy-washy with this car. I want to sell it, but I know that if I do, I'll just get into another one later.

-My T/A project. I've a weakness for politically incorrect cars.

-The fact that the FD isn't European but it has all of the disadvantages and quirks of being European. For that, I'd start to consider a Jag XK over the FD..both will be money pits anyway.

i know im gonna get flamed but i think it sounds cool lol
i like all kinds of cars and engines, i think rotaries are really cool. i don't think theyre any better than any other design of engine, i just find them fascinating. i'd love to build one (assuming i had any knowledge of them)

EDIT: i lied about liking all kinds of cars and engines. i hate hybrids and electric cars. i don't think they should be banned, since they're better on gas and "better" for the planet, but i never want one. just like i never want a kia, and lots of people drive those. god those are ugly cars. except the Soul, that's kinda spiffy. wtf was i talking about...
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

I love rotaries, rode in nicely done fc and was hooked. Smooth and responsive power delivery, and light too. The only reason that I don't own one is because I make just above min wage and I can't really afford it. Running/maintenence cost on an rb20det < 13bt was pretty much my deciding factor.

yea me too. i searched up the cost of building a 4rotor RX7.. the e shaft was just over 9 grand... just the shaft, then you need another 13b engine to stick it together thatll be another 2500 not sure what other mods youll need, but it looks like youd be better off doing and LS2 swap(easy power from those) or a nice 20B set up

i hate to be the devils advocate's bitch.. but the read Falcon posted is excellent, I've read it through a couple times and although i don't remember everything it said, all the points are super valid and it's written by a super knowledgeable and credible writer and if anybody wishes to make a solid valid argument against rotaries, they need to read the article first.
