i'm just curious.. why do we protect people who do that?.. it's not like there's a shortage of police officers if they're just sitting around all night waiting for speeders

Wow, that was a big kick, not sure if that was really necessary from what I could see. The guy sat down by himself there. But ya, don't know the whole story, he could have been really aggressive a few minutes earlier that we didn't see.

People defend the police image as a whole not the actions of individual officers corrective methods. Keep in mind that for all these bad apple cops who do this out of conduct there are tons of others trying to make your streets safer with more correct tactics, I cant say the motive behind all this but the force used seems excessive for the nature but like said you guys dont know, you watch through a small glass window to see the whole picture, this guy could have fought with police for quite some time before finally being supdued.

Here's the way i look at this, all police officers choose to judge all sports cars based on a few that choose to street race. They then choose to take small offenses and make them all sound like street racing... On that sentiment, i choose to judge police officers in a similar manner. If one officer is like that, then perhaps they all are like that too.

Yea there is not really a way to know the full story yet, the police here are doing an internal investigation. Now thats the VICTORIA police which pretty much are not the best pigs around. Ive dealt with them a few times when downtown and they all have attitude. I find that when you are in the surrounding cities/municipalities it gets alot better. In fact theres 2 local cops that pulled me over to look at my car, we need more like them lol

Reminds me of that incident in Calgary where peace officers proceeded to mace and then knee some guys who were in the cradle position downtown.

I wish cops faced the same consequences that the the general public do.
Like going to the same jails that people who commit crimes against humanity go too.
Without any special treatments or conciderations.
Then maybe the punishment for the crime would deter their actions like its supposed to do to for everyone else.

I agree that bad cops do shadow the good that others do, so I would expect the good officers should have no problem with seeing fellow officers jailed for actions which clearly are not right.
Oh ya I know why they would never allow this, because the cops don't have faith in the system that they work for......

i heard about this video today. going to have to wait for the full story as already stated. i dont defend vic pd but they're not all pricks like these ones (seem) to be. i will say that the dropkicksand the knee to the back did seem way uncalled for... *sigh*
