  • The way I see it...
The Canucks learned a few good lessons. They ****** up Byfuckhisnuts in front of Luongo. They put a man in front of Niemi, it worked both times. As well, they remained on top of posession.
When they applied pressure, they did not have support. When the play was in Chicago zone, they didn't put that guy back infront of Niemi. They have become sloppy. They are frustrated and are spending alot of time in the box because of it. The Sedins are not playing like they have all season. Bobby Lou is letting shots by that have no business going past him. They aren't playing the physical game that Chicago is getting away with. What happened to the penalty kill we saw all year.

I am a die hard Canucks fan. I can accept any loss where we are out played by a better team. All Chicago hating aside... The Canucks aren't playing the level of hockey they can and have played.

The Canucks most definately have what it takes to take the next 3 in a row and upset the Hawks. They just have to collect themselves and play good, smart, physical hockey. They don't need to change their game, just their drive. They need heart.

Chicago is not the better team, they are just playing to win, the Canucks are playing it out. Looks like this year's golf equipment has arrived, how else can you explain the loss of heart and drive.
Just one step on my way to Eleventy Billion horsepower.

    • i find it funny how some of you guys are complaining about how the hawks are the cry babies.... like really... LOU looks over to the ref EVERY SINGLE TIME hoping for a call, hes a bigger baby than the entire hawks team...

you complain about how the hawks wont drop the gloves... thats just smart hockey, let the other team take the penalty, be the bigger and smarter hockey player let the other team get too rough and get punished for it...

if the canucks want to do good next year(this year is over for them) they need to get rid of players like burrows, that guy is a chump and IMO doesnt do anything for the team except take useless penalties and chirp chirp chirp to the other team...

      • The penalty on Daniel for his broken stick made me laugh. HE HIT HIM SO HARD OMG

Canucks win in game 7 OT.

        Yeah I said it.

        • I don't think the Canucks can suddenly bounce back and win 3 games in a row. I say they lose next game, or the game after. If they want to stay alive in this series, they better start playing smart hockey and FOCUS. All of them. Even Lou is falling into a slump now. Canucks are relying too much on the physical aspect.

They scored four times last game. They had many, many more opportunities. If they can keep this up, stop taking penalties, and improve the D, they may have a fighting chance.

          • D and Penalties is what is killing them.

Either straighten out your PK or stay out of the box.

            WTB real top 4 defense.

              • I don't think so. He played spectacularly in a few games in the last series.

He's getting worn down. Like I said, his D isn't really helping him out too much. And after losing 3 games in a row, you tend to lose a bit of your confidence in both yourself and your team. Can't blame him..he's worked hard in the past few games with the Chicago, only to be let down by his team repeatedly. The Canucks have invested a lot in him, they've built their team around him, but they can't rely solely on one big player. Everyone else needs to pull their own weight.

                • Luongo has way too much on his shoulders.

On average when the Canucks lose, everyone hates on Luongo. People seem to expect him to play a perfect game every night.

                  • ^^ exactly. It's always been like that. Vancouver needs one or two big player d-men. They have a lot of "good" d-men but no one who really stands out.

                      • Canucks win 4-1 with one empty netter to stay alive. I love how they don't seem to really play hard until it matters. 3-2 series for Chicago. I doubt the Canucks will win this series, but if they do, I will stick massive Canucks stickers on the side of my car and look like a d-bag for the next series.

I guess you missed the part of the season where Burrows went on a scoring spree? I agree he's a hot headed moron, but to say he doesn't do anything for the team is just plain ignorant.

And not that I believe they will take this series, but part of me hopes they do merely so you can eat your words

As far as the fighting goes; **** your theory. You think they'd act the same way without the instigator rule? Hell no. Because they'd all pay for it. Maybe they're playing "smart" hockey, but that doesn't change the fact they're a bunch of ******* puzzies. The instigator rule should be removed for more than that reason (I argue it would almost entirely negate head shots because every player dishing them out would feel the wrath of someone bigger than them on their next shift) but that's another debate.

And as far as penalties go, I'm sure if you watched the game you would agree the game was called very one-sided for at least the first two periods. O'Brien got high-sticked (real bad) right infront of a ref, pouring blood; no call. Holding, tripping, late hits. I believe it was eager that even took a shot at O'Brien after the whistle and re-opened his eye-brow and no call. Yes the Canucks got away with a couple (notably the one tripping call on Kesler) but it was very one sided tonight. The first two penalties given to the Canucks were horse **** and there were far too many others that "slipped" past the nearby ref's to be fair. As for Lou being a bitch... I'm not the biggest fan of Lou. He's an overpaid average goalie. But when you look at half the **** Chicago is doing, I don't blame him for looking for calls. He's given up on that and they've started putting Burrows in their net to even it up and he's happy with that. He's just bad with Chicago because of the stunts Byfuglien pulls. He wasn't that much of a "cry-baby" in the LA series, and the regular season for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised to see the refs get ridiculed for how they handled tonights game.

Which brings me to my closing comments; tonight they played well. Passing was crisp and had a sense of direction/organization. Lou played a great game (didn't give up nearly as many rebounds and didn't let in any BS goals), and the D were doing their thing. That's too bad about Salo however... I'd guess he's out for awhile.

I don't think we'll take it, but I think we could very well push it to a game 7.
