like it or not, Appetite for Destruction is probably one of the most epic albums to have ever happened to the genre of rock.

In your opinion, what would constitute a REAL metalhead?

Daryl, a REAL metalhead is someone who is into the Heavy Metal genre, the most prominent feature of which is MUSIC and not lyrics. Someone who listens to metal not for songs, but goes by the albums. Someone who understands that Nirvana, Guns 'N Roses, Poison, Bon Jovi, Led Zepplin, etc., are NOT heavy metal bands, but simply rock or hard rock at best. Someone who understands the value of a guitar SOLO in a rock song.

For me, Metallica were always a great thrash metal band, but when they became commercial right after the Black Album, I stopped listening to them.

A real metalhead would also be someone who is into music for the sake of music, and is not into 'EASY LISTENING' or background music.

I draw your attention to "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey". Perhaps you've heard of it or even seen it, but for any real metalhead, it explains in great detail what it means to be in that ever loyal club of real metal followers. The guy is much younger than me, but his passion for metal is astounding.

it's super. duper. gay. the singer sounds like he's trying so damn hard and his lyrics seriously suck. sucky lyrics are only ok if the music is rocking despite the lyrics
