Yay, I got here just in time for the largest quake anywhere (from what I've heard in the news). I am staying just south of Adam so we got it even less, still though, it was very hrd to keep your balance while the most intense part of the shake was going on, like being drunk. I've seen all the footage of the damage as I can handle, all of the TV stations are doing nothing but covering the disaster so I have stopped watching TV.

It shook about every hour or so last nite (about 7 or 8 times). Not even close to the intensity of the first wave but unnerving none the less, got about 4 hours sleep. Everytime stuff started to jiggle I was making escape plans in my head if it started to get worse.

The power of energized water is almost unstoppable, makes me feel very small right now.

    Jon.

Sometimes I think H.A.A.R.P had something to with all this. This machine has caused earthquakes before.

      (Read 1 & 2)
Strange and bizarre news stories are fun to read. People are intrigued by world events that are shrouded in mystery. In many cases, the strange occurrences give the reader a conflict between what is presumed normal in society, and the facts of the case. In August of 2010, Buffalo police made a routine traffic stop on a 51-year-old man named Gary Korkuc in the state of New York. Upon arriving at his car, the officers heard a distraught cat meowing in the trunk. After investigation, they found Navarro, a four-year-old cat "marinating" in oil, crushed red peppers and chili peppers. Police say Korkuc told them he was going to cook the animal. He was arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Maybe, maybe not but its possible.

Things are going from bad to worst! A nuclear reactor at a Fukushima power plant blew up! Now Got a call from a friend who lives in Saitama asking if he could come to my place to escape this situation! Adam is also thinking about running away from this tonight too!

That's exactly what I didn't want to hear! I had it at the back of my mind ever since the quake, I hope the japanese know how to build strong core jackets.

As for your videos Bellis_GTR, don't put trust in any conspiracy mash up. Their purpose is to create unfounded paranoia. In fact, the first video stipulates that there's a correlation between HAARP and weather phenomena, which would affect tectonic stability. Proposterous.

-I can see the ionosphere modify some weather phenomena, probably atmospherically stagnate regions. But to do that would take a lot more than fine tuning a resonance frequency, you'd need a ludicrous amount of power.

-"Weather" in it's general term has absolutely no influence of tectonic activity. Global warming, very so. But only because sea floors are warming and methane pockets are erupting.

-The most significant ionospheric (magnetospheric) disasters, caused by coronal mass ejection haven't caused quakes, but would be in such intensity that magnetically powered devices (read, late 1800s) would still function while unplugged. Color me impressed.

The only (coincidental) correlation between the earthquakes and HAARP would be the auroras seen beforehand. Conjecting that both are related is pure speculation at best. They could of taken archived magnetospheric charts nade by NASA to prove their point but they don't. I wonder if those "scientists" even know of the amount of atmospheric data that is amassed.

Thing is though, as you read this, this makes sense right? But I have no background in that scientific field. I'm just extrapolating from facts and my own knowledge though a scientific process which most conspiracy "scientists" clearly lack.

Oh, and I've googled that conspiracy and History channel apparently fueled it in 2005 with a "documentary" about the subject. I just love friday nights when History channel has shows about "ancient astronauts" and "scientists" making "informed" conjecture about our biblical past being based on Alien/Human relations. That and angels were actually aliens dropping from the sky to have sex with humans to make super genetically superior babies.

BTW, it's not a rant about you Bellis, it's a rant about people having to inform themselves on facts and not unfounded speculation.

Don't get me started on Scientology.

            EDIT:

I know this is not the best thing to be asking, but the is a GTR forum so it's valid.

With this quake and everything happening, what will be the outcome on the export business for JDM's?

I am curious too. It sounds bad, because we should be more concerned about the people involved and live there. But I still want to know! I think more than a few skylines got ruined :'(
However not all of japan got hit..

I'm actually not even worried about the cars at all. There will be plenty of them. What i am worried about is the aftershocks, and how people are going to deal with them. And now, more specifically the nuclear power plant and its cooling system. I head the U.S sent over some chemical? to help cool it so the radiation doesn't spread.

From my understanding the power plant is under water right now? and if its not cooled properly, or cooled at all, the radiation after effects could be horrendous. Like, reaching the west coast of Canada and spreading all the way to the east coast.

my thoughts are with the people of japan... all the people i know over there are ok, most living in the southern regoins.... but for these 3 students who are in there early 20's please send them extra thoughts and good vibes... if they are still trapped in there car it has been over 24hrs.... im sure they are very scared....

Yeah I'm fallowing this right now. Being a chemist, the situation sucks big time! Damn Nuke plant has to be close to a major water system for cooling. Would be safer in a desert or something. Some KI (Potassium Iodine) is being distributed to the people I think.

France and the US are distributing iodine. Last reports claimed that they core is intact; the radiation is from lightwater coolant seeping out the severed cooling system. The report also said the core is in fact offline so I think the radiation half-life should drop rapidly.

From a nuclear disaster standpoint, they're going to be relatively ok. They need to stay indoors and minimize exposure by shutting down ventilation. If japan has iodine enriched table salt, they should eat real salty for the next few weeks.

Edit: The plant has been iradiated to 1Sv and the perimeter to 0.8Sv. The biological effects of that scale are relatively non-life threatning for short term exposure.

I'm feeling for everyone over there. I'm sure everyone in Japan has had his/her own kind of trauma from this event.

As long as they keep dumping water on the core things will be OK from a public safety standpoint. As long as the other reactors there don't get worse (I think they have those under control) and they keep dumping seawater on the core of #1 a large scale ejection of nuclear material (like at chernobyl) is unlikely to happen.

Your right, I didnt hear they were telling the Japanese people about it yet tho. My friend in Nagoya told me that there are helicopters with radiation cameras flying around yesterday, so time will tell. If I lived in Japan, Id be picking up that stuff ASAP. Id rather barf and feel sick than be ill from radiation and possibly die! Just listened to a talk show on that potassium iodine yesterday. Never knew about it before. Plus, if that reactor actually blew, its going to fallow the Jet stream and could reach north america.

As for that Haarp topic. I've always had iffy feelings about that. Haarp popped into my mind immediately when I heard about those birds falling from the sky and that were liquefied. Same with the fish karking out. Haarp is directly related to weather manipulation. Its not a conspiracy. and I am no scientist, but I have listened to lots of scientists and hobbiests that sound extreamly crediable that say Haarp can cause all sorts of issues including earthquakes, hurricanes.

There is also the planet X theory. That we are on a 36000year planetary cycle or something like that. Planet X is coming in 2012 and the closer it gets the more haggardness is going to happen caused by gravitational pulling. That goes with all planets in our solar system. The sun just had 2 huge x flairs that barely missed earth. Its only going to take one X flair to wipe out our entire electrical infrastructure and if that hit in the middle of north america millions could die. Lots of airports this past month had to change their GPS systems for their landing strips because of magnetic pole changes on earth. So you never really know.

There are a lot of conspiracy theroies out there to keep you busy for sure! haha I just hope its all wrong. But I feel changes the past few years and things are getting weirder and weirder. Im a bit of a documentary whore and I am a bit of an insomniac so I tend to listen to lots of coasttocoastam.com

Oh, and the thing with aliens having sex with humans to genetically modify them is a bit creepy. I think that ancient aliens show is referring to aliens from other planets coming to earth and genetically modifying out DNA calling us hybrids. And you never really know, I just read a couple weeks ago that scientists are now doing the same thing now to help cancer patients. You kind of make it sound like a sexual thing which kinda spins that theory. We are just scratching the surface for genetically modifying DNA.

One thing to consider is that there are thousands evidence of past floods. Almost every civilization on every continent in the world and they all come up at around 36000years. Like the Noah Arc... the fact that we cant replicate the pyramids in Giza, or understand angkor wat or any of the other several wonders of the world could give credit to this cycle and I do think the mayan knew more about astrology that we know. So who knows whats what till it happens. The continents changed locations before and it is happening again. and to say global warming is any of the cause is irrelevant. Al Gore can suck it down with his carbon credits up his AS*
                                ----------------------------------

I spoke with friends in tokyo and nagoya. Surprisingly my one friend is very optimistic on this whole deal. I cant get japan out of my mind since I found out about it the hr it flooded Japan. The japanese have the best technology for earthquakes in the world, but nothing can stop a tsunami. By the sounds of the reactors, I prey that they hold together and I prey for the people that are still stranded. That txt msg mentioned above is a reality check on how sad this whole situation is to the people in that area. And those tremors that are still going on would dive me crazy too! Id be full of paranoia.
