Every highway in Manitoba is 100 till you hit Virden on your way out west where it bumps up to 110.

But this is because we don't have paved shoulders as we are behind everyone in canada.

    Manitoba FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!

He got 10k fine not including lawyer fees etc. He said they couldn't legally crush the vehicle because of the fact that he did not own the vehicle. I have heard many instances of this even in regards to garbage trucks etc. All I have to say is the impound lots must love this rule!

50 over is impound, street racing is crush

I loved the highways in HRM, smooth and fast. Cops were pretty good too, limit was 110 but if you were going 120-130 they never facked with you....UNLESS they were having a mad'ol vagina bleed and wal-mart was out of heavy flo tamps and the line up at tims was too damn long, (that time of the month), and like 6 cars would hide around one over pass and get every thing that moved.......lol
Come on lotto!!! Daddy needs a whole lotta stuff!

street racing isnt crushed man..and the actual term is "stunt driving" my buddy got caught doing 180 in an 80..he got his car impounded..$5000 fine..and lawyer fees, they also gave him a 400.00 fine for unsafe tires at the same time..and it is his car not his dads or moms so it doesnt apply. .. not always will they crush your ccar...but usually..yyes they do lol

The standard of driving in Ontario is hideous , especially around Toronto where all the immigrants seem to flock to ( and they are the worst offenders IMHO) , if the speed limit was any higher than 100 klm here that would push the real speed up and many more people would die .

It's not the speed that kills , its the incorrect use of the lanes on the highway , driving 10 ft behind the car in front (seriously , the 401 in toronto is a death trap because of this ) , and general disregard for anyone else on the road that kills . I find drivers here selfish , arrogant and and completely ignorant when it comes to road usage.

The Police need to start being alot harder on people that drive in the outside lane at 100 klmh forcing people to overtake them on the inside . They also need to start handing out suspensions for people shaving in their car while driving , eating bowls of cereal while driving , women with no hands on the wheel while they fart around with hair and makeup . If someone gets caught doing this in England , its called reckless driving and carries a huge fine and 10 points , if you go over 12 points it's a mandatory 12 month ban from driving .

The only other place i have been where the driving has been worse than in Ontario is Paris in France.

What law are you quoting here? That's not a law in ontario to my knowledge.

50 over isn't just "impound" either.

it's impound before conviction, and up to a $10,000 fine and 2 years in jail after conviction.

That's right. You can spend YEARS IN JAIL just for going 150 down the 401, when as everyone here has already posted, the traffic flow is usually 140+.

it's even worse on roads with ridiculous speed limits. There's a county road where I live with a 20kph limit that may people regularly drive 80kph on because that's what the limit should be. That's automatically stunting, which could mean jail time. But, either way, they can't crush your car or keep it for longer than a week.

Why the hell is anyone defending these laws? These don't help anybody.

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head with this one, Paul!

I totally agree. These laws are ridiculous, and to be honest, seem like more of a cash grab than anything. I've been driving on the 401 and the flow of traffic was easily 140-150. Passed at least two cops, and they didn't say boo. Traffic just kept moving on.

What these laws SHOULD be, is that if you're driving like an idiot and go blazing by at 180 while everyone else is driving 120, then clearly that's just being a **** and you should be charged.

You have to keep in mind, these 'laws' were put in place due to lobbying by scared, fear-mongering ppl who lost their relatives/friends to a 'speeder'.

I'm not saying they are wrong, but chances are, their loved ones were lost because of incompetent driving, not necessarily speeding.

The limit could be 40KPH on hwy and those incompetent fuckss would find a way to kill someone you know.

I don't understand the point of jailing people for victimless crimes.

And I /really/ hate how the stunting law avoids due process and has been ruled unconstitutional yet is still being enforced.

This should equal impound, not doing 40 over when everyone else is doing 30 over.

Well he was in a RANGE ROVER, that thing probably weight 5 time more than most of the tin can he was passing. hell, it didn't even feel small when he was next to a BUS. The description says that he has a death wish, I don't think he would have died at those speed, maybe badly injured, but not died. Couldn't said the same for what he could off hit tho. Driver is still a dumb f*ck.

It's scary, really, and don't think the cop can do much either, look at this one. Yes that is a cop that gets out of it's way at the start.

                                Or this one

There are soooooo many of these vid it's crazy, then again, guess it could be the same over here if the cop wouldn't prosecute you with it.
