Hello,
It has been an utterly depressing year and a half for me. Some of you know of my situation where I had given money to a fellow member here (from BC) and had bought his GTR. He had promised to ship it last year in April, but then backed out because he said he didnt have the money to ship it. He gave me the option to either wait or he would refund me the money. I decided to get my money back because it had stretched far beyond the 6 months he had asked for. Every single month for the last 1+ year, I communicated with him. But it was one excuse after another. He did give me $900 back out of the $4200 he owed me, but then earlier this year, he said he had lost his business and lost work. He said he couldnt pay me back until he got some money from the insurance (apparently he had an accident due to which he couldnt work for a couple of weeks). He promised that he would pay me back, but this was over 4 months ago.
My only contact with him was through Facebook, but then in April, he blocked me on Facebook as well.
Now I have no way of knowing his whereabouts. All I know is that he is still very much active in BC and his city, and is going about his life merrily as if nothing has happened.
My childhood best friend (who i served in the military with) is in the police and he has given me the option that this seems like a case of criminal fraud. He has asked me to press charges and he will be dealt with through the RCMP in BC. I am weighing my options. I have no contact information for him, except maybe an email address. I know he is active on certain forums and want to really bring his identity out in the open for all to see. But I am holding off.
Do you guys think I shoudl reveal who he is and post it all over the internet so he realizes what he has done?
Some of you know who he is, as you have come forth with similar stories of dealing with him and his shop (which closed down and perhaps still owes money and parts to some people). What do people think?
Not having a Skyline is one thing and it alone is utterly demoralizing. But I lost my job last year. I was given eviction notices three times in the last one year because I didnt have any savings left to bide my time while I searched for a job. My local friends helped me through it, but this guy seems to have no morality.
What should I do? Should I post his name and his actions openly on the internet? I have proof of all the communication we had on Facebook and documentary proof that he received the money from me. I am willing to share it all here and on all the other BC forums that he is on. But it would be wiser to get some other people's perspective on this.
Thanks, all.
