After I figure out my school payments, the car will be next on the list. I'm hoping sometime by the end of this year, as I will have to reassess my situation after I've worked my summer away

I wouldn't Ryan. The sooner you start on your own, the sooner your rates will drop. You have a full G so it won't be too bad. You'll find something..there's still a few companies out there...

No problem. He's a very reasonable guy to deal with...no prejudice against RHD at all, and knows his stuff.
They just needed pics of my truck (including VIN plate to veirfy short VIN), and a copy of the ownership for that same purpose.
No appraisal needed, but the purchase price (bill of sale).
Only downfall....it's almost EXACTLY the same price for full coverage as my wife's '10 Mazda 3, for a 1994 Pajero LWB 2.8 diesel.
But then again, wife's car was 18,900 brand new.....Pajero was 10,500 plus the fact they figure parts will be more...so I guess I can't complain.

    Speak with Dave Ashdown. 519-337-3713.
The company they deal with for RHD is Gore Mutual.
They do RHD's on a case-by-case basis, they do not just say "NOPE". Also, they have not filed federally for the right to refuse RHD's like 90% of the other companies. (this filing is the reason for the straight up "no" with no justification)
I guess someone still likes to make money.
I currently moved my whole policy (2 cars, house, and new boat soon) to them cause they were the only ones to insure my Pajero (of all things).
They also hooked up Andrew (overboostedlebaron) for his Skyline.

I know the broker's in Sarnia, but hopefully this helps some people.
Tell him Rick and Andrew sent you!

I just switched from Facility to Allstate, saving half of what I was paying with Facility but if you need insurance, it kinda handcuffs you.

Just keep looking, and good luck.

My insurance company is Dominion of Canada Insurance, according to my broker they have flat out said no even though they gave me quote less than a year ago for a Skyline GTR.

My broker said this is especially bad news because Dominion is one of the most likely to insure you. She said that she called a number of places and no luck, she is down to Royal Facility at this point. She is going to get me a quote but if it is Facility it will be high.

I am going to go back in this thread a little bit and run down some leads. I will let you all know which companies/brokers I look into and what they say.

My broker is currently fighting with my insurance company to get me insured, the underwriter is saying that this is a highly modified race car, not insurable etc. This doesnt make sense because the car is bone stock, I have a clean record, I am 28, and I have been with them since I got my licence.

Hopefully I will have an update later today.
