I believe State Farm will only insure you if you had an existing policy before you had your rhd.
My buddy is insured through them and this is what they told him.

Quadracer is probably right, from the language desjardin used when they said the car has to be stock when its appraised.

So does that mean that Felicity is the only choice if you want to legaly modify your car even a little bit? I mean there are cars listed on kijiji that are sometimes up to 500whp or so... where can you ensure these kind of cars?

I hear they wont even let you have an aftermarket cd deck...

Lant ensures only if you have 10+ years of driving experience which is for me almost 2 years away. So what else for the rest of us?

I did get a decent quote through Desjardins, but how difficust would it be to pass the appraisal? Would it be easier if the car was imported through one of the JDM importers?

It all depends how its looked at by the owner. I know kids that in the past havent been able to sell their cars, if something happens, file a claim and say "its all up to you to fix it" to insurance. If you negotiate with the company, and find the parts, usually theyll pay you. Insurance companies dont buy parts from forums or private sales, only parts companies/dealerships that theyre buddy buddy's with (discounts). since you cant buy jdm tyte parts at local dealers, they have nowhere to go.
