Don't he probably has it insured as a hobby car with silver wheels or another carrier under which there are a slew of driving limitations.
I pay 130/yr for that type of coverage.
Daily insurance if you can find it, was costing me about 800/mth with a perfect record, 30, no claims and other regular cars currently insured.

What kind of **** is this seriously, you know what a weapon of death is a motor cycle, not a skyline. Something that goes 300 km/h in under 20 seconds without seat belts should not be able to be insured but skylines are this difficult and expensive? Ridiculous. Im sure everyone else has already gone thru this but im just venting, sorry lol. I drive my car under dealer plates but Id like to white plate it. Impossible even under my dads name and me as a second driver for under 750/month even though we both have clean records and driving school.BNR32

I really hate when young people try to pull this one, especially with Skylines......sorry, not trying to be rude but this does not HELP our insurance rates...
I'm 35, and I pay the EXACT same premium on my RHD Pajero, as my wifes 2012 Mazda 3, brand new.
SUCKS, but just the way it is.
I'm lucky enough to be able to insure my GTR through LANT's classic policy, or I wouldn't even have one....
BTW my dad is 60, had motorcycles since he was 18, and rates are still sh!t, and for a Kawi cruiser.
Insurance companies here are thieves. Period. But nothing us PAYING citizens can even do about it...
End rant/

Couldnt agree more. I was lucky to have lived out of toronto when i had my car on the road. My policy under MY name only cost me 84 a month with desjardins. They wouldnt insure the car when i moved to toronto. I am banking on classic car insurance when i put it back on the road. But with more people getting their cars insured through parents or older friends, its only a matter of time before they stop accepting new policies.Jordie Lewis

For the record, the only RHD car I was ever able to get a reasonable quote for was for a Celica ST205 through Bel-Air, it could have just been a mistake, but I told them it was RHD many times and I was told it was noted. Of course this was with some serious restrictions in terms of the coverage that I was allowed, and of course the premiums where fairly high but not silly.I drive a Honda...

I almost didnt post as Im extremely paranoid when it comes to my insurance on my skyline but I wanted to stress keep searching and circle back, even to companies that said no last month. When I first got her I was with Facility (high risk insurance for those who cant get insured) for 400/mth. I took it but I kept looking - I ended up getting a policy (full coverage, registered as a daily) for under 200 a month. Their not offering new policies, otherwise I would feel more comfortable sharing more - I can't even get a second RHD vehicle on the policy at the same time (one would need to be parked) but even that scares me - I've read a few stories with others who had in writing that they could get their skyline back on the road in the spring but when spring came, a different tune was sung. Whether this was true or not, I can't say but with the current state of insurance, I hardly find it worth the risk (a reason I leave my skyline on full coverage all year round).

How do you like the Pajero? I was thinking about getting one as a daily (loving my legacy GT right now - especially with all the snow fall Toronto/Greater Toronto Area's been hit with but I keep coming back!)93 R33 GTST - DD

My 98 a4 1.8T is $29 a month in Washington and my bnr32 is $175 a month in bc! I dont understand how some of you guys can justify the $400-$600 a month that you say you are paying. Yes i love my gtr but anything over $250 a month and i would seriously reconsider.1991 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R: 710whp 521 ft/lbs 27.5psi 11.8 @126mph low boost
