This is why some people build Hondas. He had less money in that then it cost me to buy my nearly stock GTR. 10.4 @ 142. Yeah, that seems like it would be a bit more fun than a stock GTR, atleast in a straight line.

hes not hiding anything i kno what he has..he use to run nitrous until he put the pistons in it but not anymore...

In all fairness, there are a couple of Civics around Calgary that are quite fast.......but NOT as fast as the Neons in either regular or SRT-4 trim

On principal alone, I will not race any Neon with my GT-R and add to anyone's bragging rights anymore than I have to...lol

My first Dyno day with my GT-R, my appointment ended up being after a guy who brought out a Red 2-door 1996-98 (1st Gen) Neon that laid down 540WHP on the Mustand Dyno we were at with 470ft.lbs of TQ (with a very conservative tune, as he had plans for 600 WHP) - I almost crapped myself. It idled like there was nothing done to it.....completely a sleeper, nice and quiet. Fully custom build 420A, custom everything from the fuel rail down to the intake manifold, fully custom Turbo setup, Standalone ECU, V6 Mini-Van Automatic Trannsmission. IT WAS SICK. He didn't have a current time slip at that point, but I am sure he does now.

Till then, the fastest Neon in Calgary was a silver SRT-4 that ran 11.3 @ 127mph on a bad day.

Some Hondas are able to get my attention, but Neons make me paranoid...lol

we built a b18 vtec motor about amonth back. this thing will terrorize a skyline gtr, no doubt..... so dont get to cocky with these honda guys...

What a waste? You mean putting in a transaxle that will hold a fuckton of power is a waste? People have gone 9's on those autos with minimal mods.

Better than a GTR trans that will explode with 650 WHP, and just destroy the synchros in a few years at less power than that :hit_head:

Well, from one car guy to another...share with me WHAT YOU would bolt up to a 420A in this situation ?
..and another thing, I never said it cost a fortune......I only said it was all custom. Perhaps more time, brains and talent ? than money ? . It's funny how everyone automatically assumes that everyone spends BIG $$ on everything instead of doing the work themselves.

I have a budy here in Calgary that has an 11.2 4cyl Mustang that he built for 'FUN', as his 9 and 10 second cars were no fun anymore.......

Nothing is ever a waste if it kills time and makes you happy in the process.
