What a waste? You mean putting in a transaxle that will hold a fuckton of power is a waste? People have gone 9's on those autos with minimal mods.
ok i retract my preivous statement, all he said was "Mini-van automatic".

I personally hate automatics now, nothing feels as good as a well drivin stick to me. But, that being said, i'd be surprised if my car could do a 16 on the 1/4, it's just a stock Protege5 lol

that's what a stockish GTR should be running? 5.7? hmmm theres an 1/8mile bracket drag thing going on this summer near me where 6's are considered very fast.

Looks like SOMEONE has their math a little screwed up.... 1/8 mile time is NOT 1/4 mile divided by 2.....LMAO

            If my 'stock-ish' GT-R was able to pull a 5.7 1/8 mile then I should be running a.....ooohh, I don't know...1/4 @ 8.90@155mph ?

Let's be realistic here. An 8.6 1/8 mile (approx 13.2 1/4mile @ 105 mph), although not that decent.....is still OK.

            A stock-ish GT-R might make a 7.5 (1/4 @ 11.70 @ 120mph or there abouts....)......BUT NOT a 5.7 1/8 mile.......lol

            Reality Check needed

.....it's not like you can go faster in the FIRST half of the 1/4 mile....lol
The Math just doesn't work, sorry guys....

Vince (7 sec 1/4 mile SC Mustang, 5 sec 1/8th) vs. Toma (9 sec Turbo'd Mustand, 6 sec 1/8th) RaceCity Calgary.

Here's what a 5 sec 1/8 mile looks like against a 6 sec 1/8 mile....now just imagine your GT-R trying to beat the SLOWER CAR and split the difference between the 2 Mustangs, right at the point where the camera angle changes from front view, to rear view while they are flying by... if a virtual 3rd lane existed.....lol.........with a so-called 5.7 1/8 mile time....lol

i thought that sounded extremely low, thats what the ? was for. i've never been to a track of any sort before, i didn't know what numbers were good and bad in an 8th mile.

Not like low is a bad thing......it's just very good....too good just not attainable with a stock-ish GT-R.

Check out the Timeslips link I made to the Performance-Shop forum above and check 1/8 mile times and 1/4 mile times. It's a great reference to see what other people are running around Alberta anyways.

                  Or just click here again....lol

                  have fun.

Does it appear to you folks, that most people who talk smack about our cars are the ones trying to prove something? I mean, owners of nice built up cars usually dont brag how great their cars are and are generally easy to talk to. I know someone (use to go to school with) who thinks he can beat me in his GLI. I'd seen his ride and all he's got it like a/m 2.5 inch exhaust, intake kit, strut bar, carbon fiber valve cover, diverter valve running at stock boost. Mind you, its a automatic tiptronic fwd sedan that weighs more than my gtr. I'd ignored his comment but, then I hear him telling his buddy about getting that big turbo kit, and then I would have no chance against his 380hp vw.

U should run him. And I hope you know what you are doing.

                            My mild GTR Runs 1.667-60', 5.13-330', 8.087-660' @84.6 mph and 12.663-1330@109.9mph.

Run him and DONT mees up or you will be as embarasses as the 08 Ron Fellows Z06 we just killed with our 01 Viper GTS we killed @ castrol race way on friday night. 13.06-12.56

You might win and you might get spanked.

If you soft launch you will run door to door with the Honda.
                            You can't fix stupid.
