    wassup guys,
    ive been doing some research and all ive seen people use are the t67's but what do you guys think about the 60-1's with a 1.15 back or do you think that will still be too small of a turbo for a stock 26 application?

      cuz stock sucks man. im pouring all this money into building the block so i refuse to use these stock turbos and i dont want to use a twin setup any more

          im trying to spend under 1200 for the turbo... so thats a negative for th to4z..what about the t67

            I got a GT4088R, why not go GT4088 its a journal bearing turbo, its big and spool is only supposed to be a few hundred rpm sooner than with the ball bearing, and its well with your price range.

              The TO4Z is a Garrett T67 P-trim with a ball bearing cartridge. Same turbo, just has an HKS nameplate and an HKS price increase.

              Unless you're running some big cams, an ATI balancer, and a bumped rev limit I think it is a wee bit too much turbo for most. It's capable of around 700-ish WHP.

              The 60-1 would be a good choice, just make sure you know what turbine and compressor you're getting. Most 60-1's come with a T04S compressor that has a 4" inlet and a 2.5" outlet. A 60-1 "HiFi" was sold with either a TO4E or a TO4B compressor housing which reduces flow by quite a bit. The HiFi's usually have an O-trim turbine, which is smaller and flows less than the P-trim you'd usually find on a 60-1 "S".

              The 1.15 A/R turbine housing is a bit large, but it would be an easy swap to a .81 or .96 A/R housing. All-in-all, I feel it's a really well matched turbo for an RB26 as long as it is a T4 exhaust housing.

                actually, a T04Z is GT4076....... a little smaller than a 4088, and a lil bigger than a t67 with a p trim....

                  I've seen the TO4Z listed as 66.7/84mm inducer/exducer on the comp side, same as a TO4R, and same as the standard Garrett T67

                    i have 6 to4z's sitting here, and whe i phoned in for a warranty, i gave them the partnumber, they list them as a garrett GT4076...

                      Yeah I really appreciate tha info. I was talkin about the to4s with the t4 back housing. So I guess that's what I'm going to purchase for her

                        What is your HP/Driveability goal ?

                        If budget is such a concern ($1200 Turbo ? ), does a Twin Upgrade not seem better for the time being ?

                        What about:
                        - Single Manifold.
                        - All new exhaust from Turbo to Cat-Back.
                        - Wastgate (unless you cheap out and try to run an actuator on a big single)
                        - Labour/Man Hours involved.

                        If you are only willing to spend $1200 on a Turbo, what does that leave for the rest of the exhaust system/supporting mods ?

                          TO4z is still a TO4z in my head.
                          Garrett will sell you a garrett t04z if you ask....


                          Look at borg warner s300 series turbos if you have a limited budget, decently priced.

                            well the manifold is 400, the gate about another 400, the oil lines about 140, and i can get my local muffler shop to fab up a downpipe for me...that wont be an issue
