I trust and think they're honest because if they were as questionable as a forum let's say, they'd surely lose business or lose credibility. I read their magazines every month since 2007 or something so I believe most of the propaganda... false or not lol.
I am always impressed by Jon's car because it's stupid fast without any fancy ecu's, turbo(s), gearbox or anything so it remains real cheap. This is a great feat when most people around him have nothing but issues with or without a built engine, he has awesomeness (other than luckygtr and his beastly 1000hp ego-booster on 4 wheels) that I can't surpass, even if I dumped $70k into a gtr because, well, I'm clueless....
I am really praising you, not sarcastic but understand that there must be a reason why your math is not adding up...
I see the Dsport R33 like the full race EFR conspiracy. Everything looks and sounds amazing but is it? I can only trust what they say...
If there's 1 thing that is kosher on the internet car world, it's motoiq. Here's a little write up on the car. It might not have 1000hp (800 or whatever you guess) but it did some not too bad 9.7 1/4mile back in 2009.
The quest for RH8 status has been quite but I think they are going to hit it soon. Last I heard they were at 1100hp. Maybe they are quick off the get go but don't see a good top speed?I dunno, I'm not into drags, I'm into couch roadcourses (watching youtube and top gear with my $350 steering wheel).

There are a few things that you can use to gauge how much power someone is making without a dyno. Trap speed in the quarter is really good indicator. Fuel usage is another good one. There are a few cars running in the low 9's at 150mph with only 1000cc injectors. They must be running higher fuel pressure because I don't think 1000s can supply enough fuel to go 150 in a 3000lb car. As far as I know 1000s can supply fuel for 1000 gross HP if pushed to the limit. That translates to about 800whp and that's not enough in a car with a CD of about 35ish to go 150 out the back door.
But most of this is just fluff in the end, I wanna see that thing make a clean pass on Q16. And I need to cut the BS and make a pass on Q16 at 1.5bar (100% duty cycle) to see exactly what she's got.....next year, I promise.

I'm not sure if the old owner has any of his pass. I know the time slip was uploaded a while back. i'll look through all my documents to see if I can find it, but he may still have it.
dyno vid(mustang dyno, when it was around was pretty stingy):
link to times--the engine bay at the top is the old setup(I was off a bit on the time/mph):
The R35 GT-R was first sold in the United States in 2008 as a 2009 model. Statistics , race track information. GR6 dual clutch transmission
old mag article(it's had a few spreads):

Nice.....$200,000 car though.....today you could do that for about $75,000 all in. Price of the origional car reduced to a reasonable $15,000 and $60,000 would be more than enough to put down 1200whp. RIPS has alot to do with that....$15,000 gives you a motor that will pound out 1400hp all day long.

it was a colossal money pit for sure. I think he put 3k miles on it in 8 years of ownership. he regrets that car badly, especially considering that his buddy blew it up and I prison raped him when I bought it lol.
it's all relative though. back then in the US you couldn't do what he did for $75K. If I cared about going straight I would bet you could do it all in for a bit less than 75K. auto trans, single, and a big shot haha.

Nicely done though, I would daily that bad boy all year long in a warm climate. Is that on E85?

no e85. just a pump gas(91) tune that made 650awhp on 1 bar and the race gas tune on something around 38psi.
there isn't much left in the car of the old setup--the dogbox(will be gone next spring), clutch, front lsd, and some misc hoses is about it. the rest is just collecting dust in my storage unit.

Maybe I'm wrong because I have a different sense of finances and worth than you but
You buy a 1000whp (if im correct) car and you want to turn into a date night road trip car. You don't call that car a hardcore car wtf you drive an huaeyra???? IMO that's sounding a bit odd trying to backpedal a high end car to a weekend thrasher.
You could have bought the same car (but near stock) to do that date nights for less than $20k probably. No build thread.
