      I haven't tried the diagnostic yet so I have no idea which error code it will give me. Maybe it's an easy fix, maybe not. If I can't do anything about it I'll definitely try your suggestion and pull it out.

        **** I didn't know that! Maybe that's why my light is on... I'm getting a new battery from crappy tire this year anyway, still have warranty on my current one.

        My climate control is under my deck too... I like it there as well.

              Ya I tried. The crack that was on the left is pretty much invisible. But on the right the plastic was twisted so I couldn't do any better. By the way has the hicas light always been on ? I suspect the steering angle sensor since it's an aftermarket wheel.

              Gunner: The hicas light will flash instead of just staying on when voltage is low.

              And thanks for the info Harvey. I might end up dropping a whole black interior since they are so easy to find. Maybe do some leather. Hmmm.....

                yeah the HICAS light has always been on. That's because the whole HICAS unit has been pulled. It didn't bother me. If you search the forums, there's actually multiple threads on this whole HICAS issue.

                  The hicas control unit is still there though. I'll start by trying to pull the codes see what gives.

                  I'm having trouble getting into hicas diag mode. Has anyone done it and can clarify the procedure please ?

                    Well it's been a while.

                    Follow-up on the HICAS thing : I pulled the light in the dash...

                    Didn't really do anything on the car since last time...except driving and enjoying it !

                    But I do have a brand new 4.0 (four point zero) sound system (I just put rear speakers in ) :



                    And finished the center console for good (fixed some gaps and crooked pieces). I used a cheap stereo install kit :



                    with some slight (read *major*) customization.

                    Finished product, no more gaps !



                    Next step : replace weather moldings and glove box assembly (it's cracked...)

                    If any of you guys have these pieces laying around, feel free to pm me !

                      Uh oh...

                      Houston, we have a problem...

                      Oil in the coolant.

                      Compression test checked ok so....I guess my block is gone.

                      Well, on the upside now I have an excuse to invest in a new engine !

                        Ewwww...



                        Is it coolant ? Is it oil ? It's both !

                        This is what came out of my rad. Actually you really only see the oil since the coolant formed a layer underneath.

                        Anyway I put water in just to see if oil was gonna find it's way back in there again. More to come in a couple of days of driving.

                          Blown turbo

                          My rear turbo is shot.

                          I got the car on a hoist today and pressurized the rad to see where my leak was coming from. All I could see from underneath is that it was dripping from between the rear turbo and the block.

                          I decided to remove some piping up top to further investigate and when I removed the pipe with the "twin turbo" badge on it, it had a lot of oil residues in it. A lot.

                          So I guess my rear turbo is blown.... now, rebuild or upgrade ? Hmmm

                          Does anyone know what turbos are on the nismo gtr ?

                            same turbos as you got now

                            get N1s and :
                            660cc injectors
                            274/lh tomei fuel pump
                            adj fpr
                            PFC

                            and you've got a whole new car, which you can run hard on the stock bottom end

                              I'll just park the car or drive it very little and gently. Like I said before, I'll do a full engine rebuild and upgrade this winter anyways.
