I came across this the other day and I had to hunt it down and reply so I could be subscribed

Any new progress? I'm excited to see final numbers and possibly a video would be fantastic.

              UPDATE #4

only time for a quick post will post pics on Monday,

so since my last update, i had to get new injectors cause the 1000cc ones i had planned on using were too short and the distributor had sent me a kit for a 4G63 motor so only 4 injectors, so we sent em back and we were told that there were no RB kits in stock, so after 6 weeks we finally got the injectors in on Tuesday, now the only available ones were the 1300cc ones thats gonna be more fun tuning...

so now we dropped in the motor, and so far no snags and everything fits perfectly (knock on wood), but the more i look at the motor in the bay the more i realize that 1 inch taller is gonna suck. placed the strut bar in place for fun, there is give or take 3mm of clearance, as soon as that motor fires up, the torque is gonna scratch the strut bar, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

also installed the AEM Meth kit in the trunk, and now making custom piping to tap the nozzles into the intake.

              pics coming soon

only issue so far is the wastegate dump pipes had to be modified cause they were aiming straight into the Rips oil pan. and the way it looks at the moment looks like a hood clearance issue.

Throw on a cowl scoop like the muscle cars! hahaha (kidding).

It would look sick if you could modify the existing lines on the hood to provide a bigger cowl and more clearance. Would look mean as **** too.

either way i think he will still have fitment issues with the hood! well depending on what hood he uses.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Cool RB30 build but unless you got a mad smoking deal on the bottom end and I looked at how much rips cost why wouldn't you gather parts for all the $3000 they cost and get someone locally to do it?

Oh well looks good so far at least you are getting stuff done too. And how much higher does the engine sit? I had a dmax style vent on my old skyline and the fitment problems came from the fmic piping that went over my RB20 not the actual engine itself. I am going to be throwing an RB30 in my S14 and just wanted to know what kinda issues i might have I guess i might have to build some custom mounts to drop the engine?

but keep up the good work like to see what this thing puts down. The last modified mag had a R34 with a RB30dett putting down 1000hp

because cheap things don't last and thats a fact. there's a reason why RIPS have a $10000 price tag for a short block

btw: as your hood...u'll have to cut a hole...look at my thread.
                            i did the same thing....

Like I said its going in an S14 so thanks for the pics now I know what i am looking at. But there are RB mounts for 240's that drop the engine an inch or 2.

Yeah I wouldn't turn down a rips block for sure! I just don't think I could afford it Lol. We will see how long my engine lasts lol. like I said can't wait to see the numbers you put down.
