Tuner should know the basic camtiming settings for that particular engine, configuration, if they have enough experience with that engine. Some share this info on forums for certain configuration (turbo's, cams, exhaust, etc), so searching for cam timing settings that some use should give you a rough idea where to start.

Even Tomei has a rough guide on cam timing adjustments for their cams and how it affects engine -

CAS sets the base ignition timing (BTDC or Before Top Dead Centre) that ECU adds ignition timing to via ignition map, which advances ignition timing to just past TDC (Top Dead Centre) or known as ATDC (After Top Dead Centre). Adjusting CAS backwards or forwards can advance or retard base ignition timing. Only time CAS is adjusted outside factory specs, is when adjustable camgears are fitted, as you change the point where TDC is located.

Also CAS is used for injector timing.

If you pull CAS apart, should see little slashes on outside of reluctor disc inside CAS. Then there's big slashes on inside of reluctor disc (I was told by EFI expert that it's called a reluctor disc).

If you have access to ECU, can see base ignition timing sitting at factory setting in tuning software and when you press throttle, can see ECU adding timing to base ignition timing in realtime.

well i won't be working directly on the car, since its been in storage for about 3 weeks, but lets just say i am preparing my master plan for next spring, and stockpiling parts, and i mean stockpiling

That's a little far. But yeah it's sick. I may sell my gtr for a white one, I've wanted one for a while

That's how you set timing. It is pretty important to set it correctly.

and the next chapter shouldn't take much longer to finish, its going to be about my track days, so i got a couple videos planned for it, one big montage i'm still working on
its just that right now i'm on the last stretch of my trimester at the university, got lots of stuff to finish/study
