Well after about 13 hours and a lot of cursing, I've got the stock turbos out. Should have done a little more research, as I didnt know the stock drain tubes flanges were bigger. Oh well. $90 later I ordered some from atpturbo.com. Fast shipping, they went out the same day, and should be here tomorrow. Almost time to put the 2530s in!

For an actual Christmas Present, my GF bought me a Nismo fuel pump and ID1000 injectors:
I bought a Tomei Type-L FPR:
Earl's Fittings for my HKS rail:
Special ordered these Iridiums, ******* Advance Auto Parts somehow managed to get 5 iridium and 1 platinum. WTF.
My tuner wants to do 3 tunes on my car. First tune just getting the car running perfectly. Second tune pushing it somewhat, and then finally a let's make this RB roar tune. I'm getting pretty effing excited. I'm ordering Nismo MAFs today and an M's Induction Kit. I'll probably switch to Apex'i later down the road, but I just want to have an intake on while I'm getting it tuned.Last edited by Ricky Ricer; 04-19-2011, 07:14 PM.

Incase you didn't see my dyno thread, here's an update. We finished everything at literally the last second. I installed the fuel pump, and Greg (Audi tech who has helped/installed a lot) wired in the connectors for the ID1000s. Once we had all the fuel system setup I started to install the profec. It's a bitch on a GTR, and if you don't have an aftermarket FPR it's even harder. Here's a picture of my setup:
I'll probably change the orientation of the return to the FPR, as the fitting I bought didn't allow me to route it down through one of the holes between the plenum. at about 1:00pm I checked the status of my parts from adam at feast. Tracking number said at delivery post office, which meant they were actually at the shop! I ran to the front desk and there was a huge box with an EMS label. Can you say good timing?! Inside were M's induction pods, Nismo MAFs, and radiator fan. (Don't EVER drive a cracking fan blade for long!) I installed the MAFs and pods while Greg installed the clutch fan. Then I started on the profec.
After I had all the vacuum hose routed for the profec Greg wired it in, and I decided the glovebox was the best place for it. We routed everything into the glovebox, and left it loose in case the tuner wanted easier access to it. At about 5:15pm Saturday we had everything ready to go, but two problems. First, it was dumping snow! We ended up getting about a foot of snow once Sunday came. But the other big problem was the car would start, then run for a second and die. DOH, the MAFs aren't scaled. I scaled them and she fired right up!
I don't know if anyone has ever tried driving their car in the snow, but imagine driving it with 18x10 wheels and ultra performance summer tires. Let alone the car has 1000cc injectors which have barely been tested to see if the car will drive. Getting the car on to the trailer was interesting to say the very least. But we did it!
All loaded and ready to go!! The next morning we set off for TheBoostCreep, where I was getting tuned. My appointment was at 10AM, but we left at 7AM. Harvey's shop is about an hour from my house, and with all the snow we knew would be hell getting there. Well, about 10 minutes north of Denver, the sky opened up, and once we were out of the city limits the roads were only wet! Talk about a great day shaping up. We were almost two hours early, but after eating breakfast we pulled up and Harvey was there already waiting for us. Let the fun begin!
We unloaded Asuka, and into harvey's hands she went.
Harvey spent all day perfecting her tune, and I don't mean that figuratively, he did the most thorough work I'd ever seen. Tuning for the perfect AFR at every RPM range. Finally when it came time to do a power run we ran into the biggest issue of the day. The springs in the actuators are too stiff. They wanted to run the turbos at 22PSI and higher. We tried adjusting them but to no avail. The turbos were making the car want to dump so much fuel they were causing it to hit almost a fuel cut. Once we decided we couldn't take it any further we did a power pull and the results are promising:
I'm going to install the stock actuators and go back within the next couple weeks. I'm so excited to see what she can really do!Last edited by Ricky Ricer; 04-19-2011, 07:15 PM.
