Why is the finish so rough, like sandpaper?

would this sort of paint (matte) get an undesired effect when washed/WAXED ,,, or when it went through a auto car wash/wax ????

Actually, I was hesitant when I was deciding on this paint job about the undesired finish when wash and waxed, however, it turns out the matte clear coat on this beads off water so mch cleaner than a gloss finish. It leaves no water marks what so ever. Waxing it comes out very clean, even cleaner than my black crv. Imagine a gloss paint without the fibre swirls that we all hate. Just a clean slate.

i can second this..the matte clear is definitely easier to work with, kinda a hose down and youre done deal. still looks nice.

even tho the goal was to paint matte clear. it doesn't give the same effect as the benz's matte paint.

lol... it looks like a regular gunmetal GTR that has 15+ year old faded paint.
