So after picking up the R33 and assessing the damage. I will be fixing it for a decent price and then will have a clean car. So I will still be rebuilding the engine from the R32.

little update. My gf has convinced me to keep the R33 so she can build it and drive it. I recently picked up a built motor for a good price instead of rebuilding the blown r32 motor.

          Some details on the motor.

The motor is a 1992 R32 Rb26dett with 80k kms before it got rebuilt

CP 86.5mm forged pistons 9:1 CR
          Manley forged rods
          King track tough main bearings
          King track tough rod bearings
R33 forged crank, polished and balanced to 9500 rpms
          Cosworth 1.8mm HG
          ARP headstuds
          Stock refreshed head
          Nismo front diff

I will be putting in a N1 oil pump for now along with freshening up the valve covers and plenum before it goes back in.

Here's some pics before it got shipped.

Thanks guys. The project hasn't gone the way I wanted it to but gotta live and learn. Now I can start making it the way I want. Not much will get done to the R33 tho

Today I went to go install my oil pump and put the oil pan on. Open the box and the oil pump didnt come with a gasket, so looks like I have to wait till next weekend to install the pump and get the engine on the stand. In the mean time I pulled the exhaust manifolds and turbos off the old head. Check the wheels out and they have some play. Ill send them off to Western Turbo and get them rebuilt so they are good to go.

I dont know how much western is going to charge you but I would go with rawbrokerage, they do rebuilds on the stock turbos and add steel wheels, upgrade the bearings inside and do some mild porting if I remember correctly. I got quoted $930 plus shipping. Once upgraded the turbos are good for 22psi
                    1990 Mazda Manyata (Turbo Miata 6psi 175whp 172wtq)
1991 Nissan Skyline GTR (13.5psi estimate of 320whp)

So after some quotes to get mine turbos rebuilt and deciding that it was a huge waste of money. I talked with a friend and worked out a deal for his rebuilt Nismo turbos. This way I can run these for awhile and make some good power, then worry about upgrading later on.

                      Some specs on the turbos.

One of my more recent purchases was a set of Nismo triple gauges and Nismo cluster.

Next purchase is going to be a equal length front pipe. They are little harder to come by but I have found a couple different options. I really want the sound a the Mines pipe and not sure if its like that because of their loop design but Im having a hard time spending $1000+ on a front pipe. My other option would be a fujitsubo for $680

So I had this idea that it thought would be pretty cool. Since I love building things with wood, I though it would be cool to do something different than just powdercoating my valve covers. So since I was finally at the stage in my build of just putting couple little things back on the block, I got my valve covers done.

                            Here's the results.
