    Hey guys,

I'm fairly new here and to the nissan scene in general. I just sold my 480hp mazdapseed 6, and was lucky to find a 92 R32 GTR sitting in a garage here locally. The guy had it stored for two years after he suspected the head gasket was toast. I had it towed to my place where I started cracking into it tonight

The engine was 1/2 pulled when I bought it, so my plan is to replace the head gasket and get it running without issue wit the twins, then as I aquired parts, build the bottom end and single snail it

So far I have gotten an OEM head gasket, and found decent deals on a PFC and 750cc injectors. I also bought a rear wiper delete kit.

So I'll keep this updated as I go. So far it's been pretty confusing because it was already started by someone else, and putting it together is gonna be super annoying, but I'll figure it out with a bit of help on here. I'm thinking I might just pull the engine tomorrow instead of messing around piecing the head apart.

Got more done today. Started off getting the turbos off...

But after many hours lol the head finally is off. The more I work on this thing, the less I want to out the twins back on and just single it now. Not really sure.

Looking at the head and gasket, it looks like a coolant chamber was leaking around cylinder 5. It's hard I tell but it was soaked in a coolant oil mixture on the block side, head side, and was actually a bit wet looking on the inside edge on one side. The guy I bought the car from said the coolant was bubbling, so it would make sense. I'm not a big fan of metal head gaskets either, and that's what was on it. Gonna be replaced tomorrow with an OEM one.

You can kinda see what I mean here

So later tonight and tomorrow I'm gonna clean some things up and get some crud off haha. I turned the crank and the bottom end moves awesome. Pistons and cylinders look great too. As it stands my plan is to put back together and make sure everything works and runs, followed by around September pulling everything and a full bottom end build and single conversion, that being said I'm gonna go old school and check the head and deck with a straight edge and hope the OEM squishy gasket will mild to any impurities. It should get me through to September fine.

These motors aren't known for headgasket issues, so don't lose sleep over your work.

Break out your diegrinder for some gasket matching, if you have time.
      oh hai!

Back at it again today for many hours lol. Started by removing the air con junk and cleaning the head and exhaust ports.

Anyways, head gasket was replaced, and everything started to come back together.

At this point I'm back to where I started except one turbo still isn't on.

Not really much left now. We finished guessing where most hoses and clips go lol, and everything looks good. Tomorrow I need a few crush washers for the PS pump, and a battery before we can continue.

So all that's left is fugue out the fan situation (is thier supposed to be a pully between the block side and the fan that allows the belt to drive it?), bolt up an axle, put the diff cover on and fill it, change fluids, tighten crank pully, and it's pretty much ready to start. I hope lol. Gonna take a break tomorrow to chill with the gf lol.

Well done! Can you take a pic to clarify your question regarding the pulley in question? From what I gather from your question the answer is yes. There is a pulley that drives the fan.
              Good luck!

Okay so I got the missing pulley from the previous owner. Its all back together, and after trying to plug the most annoying coolant leak ever, after forgetting one of the coolant hoses under the IM, its all finished. One problem tho.... When i hooked the battery up, its sparked and smoked a bunch, which would seem to indicate a short somewhere. I tried a few times, once the fuel pump primed and then kinda faded off lol. Tonight im gonna try to chase down the short. My understanding from what I read is if you hook up the pos cable, and put a test light between the neg term and cable, and start pulling fuses, when u get the system with the short, the light will go out. Worth a try i guess.

This car has been messed with a bunch by the old owner, luckily i noticed that 2 or 4 rear drive shaft bolts were undone, and the bottom half fo the tranny was loosened, also both axles were finger tight. Cant wait to see what else i missed haha.

Yep so it runs, haven't had it to operating temp yet cuz for two days I've been fighting many colorant leaks from rusty coolant feed lines from storage and bending to install turbos. Anyways there is finally no leaks, so tomorrow I'm gonna let it run and see if te head gasket is fixed haha.

Okay well I daignois this surge/bucking under boost, I am also gonna start the list of things I already have, and things I still need for the single turbo conversion, in case anyone wants to chime in on things im missing or may want to consider. For now the build will not include any bottom end build. Thats a project for the fall, along with cams and head work. For now I just want to get what I need to pull the twins off and simply everything.

                        WHAT I HAVE

                        - 750cc Denso Injectors
                        - Apexi Power FC L-Jetro
                        - Dual HKS BOV
                        - Greddy Y Pipe
                        - Front Mount Intercooler
                        - PFC Serial to USB Cable
                        - Turbo ( .96A/R 70mm T72 Godspeed)
                        - 50mm Wastegate
                        - Single Turbo Manifold
                        - Fuel Pump (Walbro 255)
                        - Wideband (innovate MTX-L)
                        - Oil Lines / Water Line Block + Restrictor
                        - Downpipe (to be built)
                        - FC Datalogit + USB Cable

Keep in mind, Im building a budget track car that might get driven on the street from time to time, so I will not be buying/building a multi-thousand dollar turbo set up right away.

I have found some kind of issue. It idled around 1500rpm so i turned the CAS so it idled around 1200ish. I had a boost leak that was causing a bad "bucking" on acceleration and fixed that once i found it. Now i get a pretty constant stutter or spitting feeling once in boost. My gauge doesn't work so I don't know how many PSI i hit before it happens, but i can say that i can hear what sounds like the tires chirping sometimes if it hesitates or spits bad, and I cant do over 80kmph because the sputtering gets so bad on the highway that i have to be nearly WOT in 5th or 4th to get it to maintain 80kmph, so there is a major loss in power.

I have ordered new plugs, but they wont be here until next week I don't think. Any other suggestions? Something Im overlooking or is this a common thing? Oh and pretty much everything is stock, I believe it has dual HKS BOV, and some minor upgrades like cone/pod filters and that sort of stuff.

What are you using for boost control?
You might have a vac. line off controlling your actuators. In this case the PFC is seeing an over boost condition and cutting power. It's happened to me.
