  • N1 Water Pump Question

    N1 Water Pump - RB26DETT

The part# that resides on most of the forums is 21010-21U26 , as that is the number I got from GTRUK (?) forum when I copied all the part#'s. I have also seen 21010-24U27. So which is it ? both ? is there a difference ?

    21010-21U26 or 21010-24U27 ?

      That makes complete sense.......

And..Bruizer, I know that you and even some others, are completely Anti-Ebay for RB stuff, but last night I decided to sit down and throw together a spreadsheet "A La Geek" (which is what I do for a living anyways...lol) just to see what I am into my car for thus far and what I need to get the build done.

      Long story short, I cried.....

This is where my compulsive "Ebay Grinding" comes into play, as at this point, I will take any break I can get.....hehe

I just confirmed the part# (21010-24U27) with a Nissan Dealership that sells on Ebay, as they were selling the N1 Water Pumps for $145 with low shipping ($24).

I can appreciate the comments about Ebay and 'Factory Seconds', 'refurbs' or the items that don't pass QC......but a Nissan Dealer selling the pump for less than HALF of what everyone else sells for ? Not a chance of bad equipment me thinks.

      RB N1 Water Pump (21010-24U27)
RHD Japan - $380 shipped to Canada
Ebay Average - $300 to $400 Shipped to Canada
      Autodream (local Calgary) - $300 w/tax (pickup)
West Covina Nissan - $144.95 + $24.00 shipping to Canada. They also sell the OEM RB water pump for $65 + shipping

Now, I can appreciate everyone needing to 'eat' but this RB Motor Parts thing has me now screaming "Shinanigans" and "GOUGING"

Are we all a bunch of suckers ?

Is this another case of, "No, I won't buy the $1.99 Lobster Tail from the guy at the Farmer's Market, but I will pay $19.95 for it from a seafood shop (that bought theirs from the same guy)" ?

Yes, I am compulsive. I LOATHE feeling like a sucker and like the next guy, I like a 'deal' from time to time.....hence my Ebay shopping.

Sometimes, things are simply advantageous for some....especially in a free and unregulated market place. All hail to capitalism....lol

As always, give me enough time to put on my helmet before the stoning starts...lol

Good things can be had on eBay. But there was a rash of replica (ie:right down to the part number) N1 oil pumps on eBay that have proven failures....

I've had good luck, Greddy pullies, timing belt and clear cover for $320 shipped...I think that was good....

        Just have to tread lightly...

West Covina Nissan is very knowledgeable about Canadian Customs and Taxes , I got the solid front brake lines from them.

LOL......I am almost scared to ask what happened....and if you are infact serious..... because all I was expecting in this thread was sarcasm and sour grapes...lol

I was also looking at the brake lines etc. from them. Great deals if you ask me, unless they ship UPS with 100% declared retail value that is

            Please share.
            Thanks.

It's pretty safe to buy stuff like Shifter boots, floormats and clear timing covers (unless they are fake and melt and wreck something? lol) but critical stuff like timing belts, injectors and turbos who knows, I like to buy from the genuine factory for maximum satisfaction and peace of mind, even if my build could take 5 years. About the spreadsheet you don't wanna know how far I've gone into that, simply put it's down to the cent, date bought/recieved, from who, attached pictures, saved compared to... crazy! This is a must for me though. I'm anal maybe.. I even clean ignition coils, right Anthony?

In this case, it's atleast coming from a Nissan Dealership......if you can't trust them, then who can you trust ?

As far as the spreadsheet goes.......it just puzzles me that I have owned my car for about 2 months, have about $10,000 in reciepts extra for parts and the only thing I remember doing up to this point was changing the fluids and coils/harnes and installing the billet coil ground strap at the same time....lol...OH and a cheap set of tires to get me through the season because of my 'budget'....lol

Had I known the extent of my spending ahead of time, I would have bought a $20,000 GT-R instead of a $12,000 GT-R initially and just called it a day.....hehe...OR NOT

Lets just say they know how much to declare so you don't have to pay taxes but for a water pump I don't know if they'll error on the declared valve. One thing I did check and compared is their list prices, they are on par with another online Nismo mail order place in Tacoma. I was going to order the N1 oil and water pump but I know a few of my friends are planning to go to LA later this summer and they're going to pick them up for me. As for Ebay not everything on it is a better deal so always shop and compare like what you've done.

Do you still have to modify one of the bolt holes on either the 24U26 or 24U27 to fit the earlier RB26's?

                          they all fit the same
but the N1 pumps have an elongated hole that you sometimes have to plug.
