Yeah, I remember talking to you via pm about that ^^^. The one I seen was a R34 crank and a jun or tomei pump combo. So maybe the clearances on those pumps are different?? The engine was Andrews "monkeynutz" former tech at Z-Tune. It was one of his personal engines from his GTR. So unless some R34 cranks are good and some are bad or the aftermarket pumps have even looser clearances (which I doubt), Its still hard to say. Nissan did some funny things. Pump and crank should have been made at the same time, same drawings, same shop. Mass produces parts sub-contracted, you will never get perfect clearances. Bottom line, measure yourself with a clearance gauge EVERY engine before assembly! Then you can trust it for fact yourself (as you did). It's just hard for me to trust what other people tell me as I always get a different conclusion then when I check these things myself. Andrew told me he got his 34 crank new. So maybe he got ripped and ended up with an R33 crank (which I know for fact still has a clearance issue, spun a couple myself including V-Spec R32) Its just weird for me to never have a tight fitting Nissan crank, EVER. :S :S :S And that the Jun collars are loose as well and that not one company or one machinist selling aftermarket collars never state the clearances. 9/10 of those guys I bet just copy the jun one anyways. :P

I have been studying the oil problem and pump issues quite extensively the past week. I'll prob throw out a new thread here in the next month. And it will include engineering math equations showing exactly how much more stress the pump does see with my clearances and Nissan clearances to prove my thoughts. I was flipping through an automotive engineering text book just yesterday. I just need help with the math as its the longest equation I ever seen :P haha

Also, going to show if the rear drain is actually a drain or a vent and what side of the sump is better and how to make the engine breath properly. And scavenge plates, baffles and crank scrapers. That might take me another year to figure out tho. Been trying to find a cheap, simple solution for everyone but there are just so many options and so much bias info out on the net. I wish I was into 1JZ/2JZ before RB's Yeesh!
