They have all my money.. and I have forgotten what it was like to drive the car.

Waiting at this point is more of a mild irritation. However I still want the completed car back so that I may try and get some enjoyment out of it!

Warranty is warranty.. So we'll see how long it takes to complete delivery. :|

        • they sure know how to get you with your pants down, i sure know the feeling and i didnt wait nearly as long as 20mo. either. Id be i a lawyers office or atleast shelling out the 160.00 at the nearest registry to get the paperwork flyin'

          BS!
like my newest thing....From DAY1 they knew of an oil leak from somewhere which they considered "Residual", but now that the warranties over, i have to fix all my steering lines. Which again, i know is not a headache near yours right now but still....i dont know how he keeps his head above water??

          • considering he has yet to deliver a functioning car.. My six month warranty hasn't even started officially as far as I am concerned. The "warranty" repairs at the moment are more of a "****, we have to complete this car so Chas can actually take it!"

It's not like a dealership starts their warranty before you drive off the lot. And since this is a rebuilt engine etc,.. I don't see how it is any different in this case. I need to have the car back before the clock starts wouldn't you think? lol

All and all.. Steve and Chad seem to be making a decent effort, and going out of pocket to complete this for me. But at this point I am severely disillusioned.. :-|

              • The ECU has been tested in another car. All is working fine. There was a new ECU sent out just incase the issue was the ECU but I am not seeing that here. There is one more solution if the electrical on this car is still causing issues but I am waiting to see what happens with the new ECU. In over 50 ECU's since the new release I have never experianced this problem. I have talked with Chad and Steve about all the grounding because that was my first suspect. This appears to not be the issue.

Does that mean they would have to rewire the car if this new ecu doesn't fix the issue?

Damn.. we may reach two years after all!

                    • CHAS....

IT DOES NOT TAKE 20 Months to build a f'ing car man!!
this RB25DET can slap down up to 900HP, so wtf is the issue here?
besides, Steve loves to make his customers litterly hang by the balls!

I was in FURIOUS mode 2-3 months into my ordeal and even threatened thier asses with a Small-claims case. By what i was told on the phone was 1st youd have to be in the closest registry to the shop you deal with (courthouse) and start a Small claims action which is 160.00. They then file the papers at Steve and look for a reply from him to make sure things will be delvered on a schedule of some-sort which i believe was 30 days to comply. If he ignored this Legal letter they then file another legal document his way and GIVE HIS ASS 30 days to have ALL work done or face penalties.
In your case, the lawyers would laugh so f'ing hard at 20 months of this non-sense, they may even call him themselves to let him know he is retarded!! lol

anyhow, reason i even mention this is cuz he pissed me off and continues to do so even regardless of his efforts. Makes me even madder when he laughs at me over the phone when he damn well knows im furious with **** on his end!

What the hell do you have left to resolve?! I thought your project was completed..

And I hope it's something as simple as a small adjustment on the CAS.. lol

                        • Don't quote me on this -

89Baysideblue, some engines have Gremlins due to age of parts, heat affecting parts, vibration loosening parts. My cars engine is like that, so I now constantly check everything.

That powersteering leak seems to be normal from what a mate told me. My car did it as well and leaked for while (we thought it was the blowby hose oil leak on rocker covers blowing oil out and onto that area and was trying to find a replacement part) until powersteering fluid level light (Hicas light) lit up on the dash. The hose clamps needed to be tightened and refill resouvoir with fluid. Sometimes the hoseclamps need to be replaced, due to age, which is the best option.

Light speed, as far as I know, Vi-PEC ECU is basically a repackaged Link ECU and the MAP sensor that's connected to Link ECU's has been known to have bad solders on the inside. I've heard of 2 cars, where MAP sensor heats up and engine misses. That would explain, when swapping ECU to another car, with another MAP sensor, why it runs perfectly.

                            • Hey Chas,

Check your fuel injectors. My fabricator dropped one of mine and it cracked. Motor wouldn't hold an idle once it warmed up. He swapped it out with another RB20 one and it idles fine now. Maybe even have them flow tested.

                              • It's not the injectors.. We know what the issue is, we just haven't nailed down the cause.
The Ignition Dwell is spiking, and destroying the coils.. WHY? is the question at hand.

In current news.. The second ViPEC unit arrived today. They have it installed, and are going over the wiring and CAS one more time.

The morning will bring the moment of truth.. Will it run or not?!
