and i love how empty the engine bay is lol. i wish i had more money to make everything custom and simplify, im doing everything i can but i dont want to really mess with the fuse box wiring.....

it just looks like the motor is floating there. but funny thing is, if i tighten the exhaust/turbo/dump pipe bolts, put the rad in with 2 hoses and battery wit would start lol.

new rad arrives in a couple weeks i hope, ive already paid for and waiting 2 months. well im technically in no worry ahah.

well i guess i should post up a few things. umm not much progress i just bought a jdm 1990 legacy turbo wagon. it will be my winter car. should be fun. anyways yeah its almost paid off, once it is, (next week) then i will go and get my license since i still dont have it, once that is paid, i will then continue to purchase more things for my car or maybe i should say, pay for custom work because nothing is going well being this low.....

so yes my rb30 is sold, just need to ship it out.. really sad since its one of my fav motors in the world or the f40 3L twin turbo v8. so sick.

anyways i got a few pics, some of you might like some might not.

i wanted the car out of the garage because it needed a massive clean so out she goes.

and as you can see i had tons of junk in the car that needed cleaning.

and this after i put my rb30 back together and put the cams back in the rb26 head.

        what a beautiful sight!!! lol!

the car this motor should of gone into!!!!

now look at it!!! (ready for shipping)

i was surprised how clean this head was...

and i was also playing with my alignment since my custom camber arms finally came back.

and well the wheel fits, tire doesnt really fit, i have to squish the tire in lol.

anyways i wont all work till i get new tires, and my rear toe arm in, but that wont go in till i get my s13 non hicas subframe in.

and another bonus pic, my cusco 2 way i picked up from ian fournier. i just needed to re-seal the cover, it was leaking.

lol yeah but im actually changing all the tires. fronts will be much skinnier so that when im on full lock it wont hit the fender, and the rear will be thinner but a bit wider. these chunky 50 series profile tires are going to pass anymore. i mean i get them for free used and free install, but its time to dial in all the proper specs and sizes.

obviously more to come, just not sure when....

Pretty sure it's not kg1 silver though. Not sure if u noticed some of the pics with the rainbow sparkle it has and the previous told me it has the r34 sparkling silver but I think it's wrong since I found the colour code, found another car in canada that has that colour and put the paint chip next to mine and wasnt it. And then added be rainbow sparkles. Steve Thompson did it from drift union since he paints cars for a living.

But does anyone know the colour of th engine bay or interior metal? I wouldn't mind repainting engine bay and I need to paint the whole interior since where I removed the sound deadoning (which is everywhere) it's a different colour and I won't be putting carpet back.

AND WHOEVER WANTS THEIR CAR THIS LOW AND FOR IT TO HANDLE PROPERLY, JUST DON'T DO IT. It's honest turning to be a lot a lot more work then I thought. Almost every single suspension part needs to get cut and re welded or extended and so on. Everything needs to be changed and you only find out what's wrong After you fix another problem. I mean if your patient and don't mind spending the money do it and its sick building a car but things are kind of a bit over my head. Especially since this is the first car I have worked on at all. Learned how to do my first oil change after I owned this car, so it's a huge learning experience when your going custom

Sorry for not keeping this thread very alive. Just bought Another car and bought a huge tool box and bought stereo stuff for the other car, 1990 jdm Subaru legacy wagon. 2.0L turbo awd. Good winter car since I go snowboarding lots. Maybe I'll post stuff about that too if some don't mind or if I'm allowed...

Anyways my car almost starts but since my new exhaust manifold moved the turbo a bit from where it was those hard metal
Lines for the oil and water don't quit line up so I ordered some 90 degree fittings with some soft lines so it will be much easier to put together. I'll post pics of those and I'll video the new sound my baby will make.

Should be one of the loudest skyline out their,
Well for how little hp it has I suppose.

So I'll post pics when I get home of what the problem is, but yeah I slammed my car so much that the wishbone where it connects to the FUCA is hitting the top of the strut tower. And I mean I can drive it hitting the top obvi. So I'd like opinions on how to fix that and no I'm not raising it if that's your suggestion. I have had to customize almost every suspension component on my sedan and I'm not stopping now. Some say I could cut out just enough metal above where it hits so when I hit a bump or something it can move up but I'm worried how close it will get to the hood kuz the hood sits right on that point... And it would be ugly when you open the hood. Is their shorter arms that you buy to replace the super long oem one? And now also once I put up the pic you'll see better but the you can understand the camber arm is like completely vertical, so if I add more camber wouldn't it mean its pulling the top of the wishbone down with the camber arm gettin farther away from the top?

I also thought of getting someone to cut mine and reweld them shorter but I feel like that doesn't sound super safe... Even though the guy is an aviation sheet metal repair guy who also owns his own shop building time attack cars. But it sounds more expensive to get it modded then buy another of u can. Anyone know if u can buy aftermarket short ones? If so what brands!

                      Thanks

I think your best option is to cut the hole or section man, you can always get it welded later if you dont like the like the look of it. I dont think shortening the wishbone is going to help. Just cut the hole and keep you hood off, mock up something in its place to see if it would hit.

Ryusuke Kawasaki, the editor who owns the Doriten GTR also had this problem. He busted out the angle grinder

Maybe cutting and welding the longer wishbone is possible, but I'd try the above first. That and stiffer front springs like 12K and above

i have 12k spring rate lol. i have driven on em yet, still brand new, but because i want so low i had to get rid of preload so once i drive it will more a bit more then a frim preload on a 12. but once i get my much smaller front tires i will have to put collars back in get some pre-load so maybe that will be just enough. does that makes sense?

like when i get my 205/40 instead of my 205/50, it will lower the car a good inch and my front lip will literally be on the ground so ill have to raise a little to compensate for the tire size to have the lip off the ground as it is now. so maybe that adjust might be just enough. hmm

I finally got the same coilover as yours with lower spring rate. I won't go as low as you but I like where this is going!

On really low cars they modify chassis rails, driveshaft tunnel, etc to move subframe further up into car and some use custom subframes for front of car. HKS EVO (time attack car) is done this way, as moved subframe 40mm?? up into car.

Joe's Cuda was done this way as well (common mod in US on really low Muscle cars) -

In US they make custom F1 style suspension (only suspension setup capable of working properly on really low cars) type of subframes for this application, but are only made for Muscle cars. From what I can remember, Year One, Rad rides by Troy, etc use them on the Muscle cars they build (they know the person who makes them).
