  • Frankydodo 2nd gtst (montreal)

    Hi guys!

After selling my 91 gtst last summer(i still dont know why i sold it lol)

I miss everything about this car! So i bought another !

Its a 1990 gtst with a gtr front and wing!

First thing i did was to change those ugly wheels!

I bought a set of gtr wheel and painted them gold!

    I also relocate the battery

When i bought it it already has

-Hks exhaust with super too big tip
    -fmic
    -Apex'i intake
    -crappy bleed valve

Its pushing a bar of boost on stock turbo ( i know it wont last long) But right now i want to buy another rb20 turbo to send it to cherry turbo to make an hybrid rb20 turbo with steel internal!

    256whp @ 14.7 psi.

    Stock injector, stock fuel pump.

I did a little shopping tonight and i bought

    -AEM uego
    -HDI electronic boost controller
    -255lhp Walbro fuel pump!

    Update soon

    Frank

Also receice my hdi boost controller! I opened the box it look good cant wait to install it to get rid of my shitty mbc

I also picked up a oem rb20 turbo that im going to send to cherry turbo to make an hybrid turbo with metal compressor and turbine!

Yesterday i bought a set of freshly cleaned and balanced rb26 444cc injector for 200$ just have to make the custom resistor box for that

        More update.

I now have oem gtst seat instead of sparco much more comfortable, also installed my hdi boost controller, seriously for 150$ its a great bang for bucks, super stable boost and easy to set.

Also installed a dual gauge pod on the a-pillar

not 100% finished, couple of fitment to do because of the clip they give with it are crap.

just have to get my bung weld.

Where'd you get that gauge pod for the A pillar? All I can seem to find are pods for LHD

The wait is over! I finally got a package yesterday.

                And.....

                Bam!

A brand new rb25 hybrid turbocharger directly from kinugawa! Rated at 450hp

And it got the OP6 exhaust housing! I think its the best from nissan rb25 turbo!

Next to my old 20 turbo

Look at the size of the turbine!!

                Old 20

                New 25

Well, cant with to swap this badboy! Will be my second rb20 turbo swap ! Hope everything will be good!

Also hope to break the 300whp mark maybe 350!

I would like to know what whp you get out of this turbo. I had Cherry Turbos do a hybrid rb25 turbo for my rb20 and I got 294.1 whp at 18 psi. Would be nice to know specs on this turbo.
                  Cheers

                      I like.

The exhaust wheel looks bigger than on a normal hybrid stock turbo.

Well well...test fitted the turbo today and was a little upset.

The turbo was not clocked correctly. The compressor outlet was hitting the exhaust manifold. So i had no choice but clocked it !

So! Begin to loosen the nut . After all the nut are loose i begin clocking it ....

                        But!!

The wastegate they give with the turbo doesnt fit when you try to clock it the right way!

So i had to remove the kinugawa wastegate and install the rb20 one.

After all this i re-test fitted the turbo and it fit perfectly.

Also the oil drain doesnt fit so i had to make one but its only a little custom hose so not that hard.

I decided to keep stock water feed ( the one that goes to the back of thw block) because its a pain in the a** to remove. The oil feed and water return will be braided hose.

                        Only a little question.

The stock oil feed is really short and makes a loop but the oil feed that comes with the kit is like a 24 inches long hose so my question is can i make it travel from engine block, pass it on the bottom of the turbo and then hook it up?

                        Check out my paint skill

                        Stock

                        What i want to do

I wouldn't put it under turbo (fighting gravity). Oil is meant to gravity feed into CHRA on turbo and exit at the bottom of CHRA via drain hose.

Best way is to get a mobile hydraulic hose specialist to cut, reposition the fitting on the braided hose. Or cut braided hose (put electrical tape or similar around braided hose before cutting to stop end fraying), buy a removeable fitting to suit (block side of braided hose), problem solved.

Thanks skym i think ill just cut it and makes a loop like stock one or just straight. I actually don't know why the stock one makes a loop..

Also, water travel through a closed system with no air. so gravity doesnt matter? So if my water line make a bowl shapes does it matter?

You're welcome. Probably to avoid parts on engine that are hot. Copy what the factory has done with coolant feed, as they have done it properly.
