Afford Skylines

There's 2 things you can do, that can help you to afford to run a Skyline.
1.) Like what has already been said, don't skimp on maintenance as most failures can be traced back to poor maintenance.
2.) Like what has already been said, don't drive the car everyday (cheaper on gas and less wear and tear on parts. Also car doesn't get dented, scratched in carparks, etc). Use a cheap daily driver, that you don't mind if it gets scratched, etc and drive Skyline on the weekends for cruising or for other activity's like racetrack, dragracing, etc.RESPONSE MONSTER

i've had my previous summer car for 5 years now and it has no signs of wear. just imagine how much wear and tear your DD gets in 5 years!

I bought my GTR when I was just working partime school year and fulltime summers at a grocery warehouse making 14 bucks an hour. It's not that hard. It's needing to buy a new clutch and rebuilding the motor twice that gets you.
I've got a crapload of money saved up from working in the patch during the summer, so now I'm looking at buying a place to live. With any luck by my 22nd birthday in June I'll have my GTR running with the built motor and single turbo setup, a reliable 2004 SUV for a winter ride, and a 2-bedroom condo. My mortgage should be about 800 a month so having a room mate will cover the mortgage, and then I can still have a bit of money left to throw at my car while I'm in school full time again. Work hard, and you can do whatever the hell you want to do.1990 Skyline GT-R - Jet Silver Metallic

I work in the film industry, when I get on a union show regularly I could afford my GTR no problem. But if I'm on an indie or not working it gets tougher.1999 Nissan Stagea RS Four S, White

I work security, Full time 80-90 Hours every two weeks, when I am not doing that monday to friday I do Co-op for the O.p.p to help with my future career as a police constable, and I love it so much, with the money I have I own.
A GTR with a tempermental attitude
A 1996 Chevrolet Caprice DD
A 1994 Chevrolet suburban Diesel
A 2000 Mazda B3000 pick up
A 2000 Chrysler sebering
A 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor EX police
BTW I am only 19 and have owned a skyline since I was 17.
I plan on getting more once I am settled into life.
But its all determination and a bit of hustle sell some stuff like cars make money on the side combine with Day job and you can live comfotably. I still live at home but I work 20 Hours a day during the week so I am not home much just to eat and go back out. And yeah wanted a yota 4runner or pick up till I saw gas my suburban gets better then that and its a PIG!You can't doubt the existance of hell when you live in it

im 20. im a truck driver for a local hardware store that doesnt pay even close to enough. and my gtr is my daily driver during the summer. i gotta stop that.... also i need a new job that is actualy fair with the pay lol. i live at home but i pay rent. my gas and insurance is hugely expensive. and i dont make much money. i can afford a skyline but just barely. time to get a better job.WHEN MY TURBO'S GET SPOOLED, YOUR GONNA GET SCHOOLED(O▫O)______(O▫O)Originally posted by SnowJapanese boys remind me of my Skyline

Your an actor?[/QUOTE]
I am yes, right now I'm just training 15 hours a week, haven't done a whole lot on screen yet other than a couple commercials. I work in set decoration. Union gigs pay quite well when I get on them. But I sold my GTR because I wanted to mod and track it more, and right now acting, travelling, and my other film job take up too much time/money/energy. I will get a skyline again someday, and mod and track the hell out of it1999 Nissan Stagea RS Four S, White

Im a lot bitch/attendant at Volkswagen right now(Still in high school) as I am saving up for a skyline in the near future. As people have said before its not difficult to afford a skyline(Even though the upfront cost seems very large). Just don't clutch drop at every red light and redline every shift and do your maitenence and you will most likely be able to stay on top of the bills with it.06 WRX
