Ive had some garbage cars too, shitty diesel trucks and cars that have leak fuel lines that smell everyday. Skylines are no easy feat, it doesn't come from just working a summer. You gotta have that work ethic and learn to respect working hard. A 14,000 dollar GTR is a big achievement for someone under 20 and it takes alot of dedication and long nights working to afford one.
haha the only part i am quoting is the shitty diesel trucks part. i drove a ford f 350 turbo diesel 1 ton truck for the better part of a year in highschool. haha

You understand that there is a difference between doing absolutely nothing and having absolutely nothing right.

I said I do absolutely nothing, I didn't say I have absolutely nothing. I have my 82 supra that i drive. I have a 1996 Grand prix that i am trying to sell, i have a 4 plex that i am renting out. I have yet to buy a skyline because i want my cashflow to be high enough to afford one. the only reason I don't work a "job" is because i am focusing on school. Come summer i will work my butt off to get some extra cash. I'm only 16 btw

tech for nissan.saved my money and invested in houses.
made crazy cash .played with the money from the houses.
but you can own a skyline on a $12 hr job easy.
just dont go race the crap out of it if you cant afford to fix it.
enjoy it and when moneys better run the **** out of it and fix it when it breaks

i just didn't know it was possible for someone that young to be in a renter type situation. Like how did you get a mortgage so young?

If it's a lengthy explanation feel free to pm. i am legitimately interested.

archaeic_bloke i am trying to get a loan for 15k at the moment

Getting a loan for such an old car would not be the wisest choice unless u can afford to pay ur monthly payments for the next how ever many years that the loan will pan out for, and any repairs that you'll have....

I figure its best to save your money untill you get enough for the car you want and then spend it, that way you don't have anything taking your money away every month aside from the necessities.

Either way, I applaud you for your career choice....because someone has to have the stomach to do it and I personally couldn't. I am far too emotional of a person and couldn't handle seeing injured kids etc especially in an Emergency Room environment.

Kudos to you for having the balls to do a job like that.
Thanks bro. I'm an RN, have a B.Sc degree, major in nursing. There are still LPN's, and their scope has been widening...but they are licensed practical nurses and do not carry the responsibilities which RN's do. The biggest difference is just a lot more education for RN's.

I find the job quite rewarding because for the most part people get better...not often people get worse. Some of the most challenging things about the job are working with so many women...geez. But I can pretty much work anywhere on the planet, and the pay is quite good. After I have a few more years of experience I may do something like flight nursing. You fly to other countries, pick up sick Canadians, and fly them home. I could go on and on...basically within nursing there are several dozen careers to choose from. Just starting out after school, it's not hard to make $85,000 in one year with a little overtime here and there.

Just to add my two cents to the offtopic-ness....
I have a 1989 Toyota pickup with the 3vze on 33x12.50's and I get 350 - 400km per tank on regular chevron gas with 75% city driving and 25% highway.

                          Back on topic....
It's all about finding the right job, and in my case balancing it with school. If you can find a good paying job and a job that you enjoy, then everything else will come. Remember, the bank likes to see you at a job for a while, and a good co-signer helps when your young and needing a loan as well.

and you live in TO too.... have fun in the summer when your sack and back and pits are sweating. I'm sure the GF is going to love it when you show up for a date dripping in your bodily fluids.

i work as a events and promotions manager.
i think if your smart with your money then it isnt to hard to save for a nice car. getting a loan for an odler car though to me seems like such a bad idea.

im lucky i have a house and morgage in australia but currently renting out the house so its paying itself off while im living in canada. Bout my first rent place at 18.... got lucky with inheritance on that one. Then bought my own house 2 yrs ago at 21. cost a good $ but if ur smart with money its not to hard. not drinking alcohol also helps lol

deliberate32 its not goin to be a loan its goin to be a finance company plus i am getting a powertrain warranty. plus i am good with mechanics that's also the reason i am goin after this car i wanna learn about it.

My other reason its just to build credit as well and i don't mind paying for it. I am also doing it by-weekly.
