Mikes at it again doing something huge for the RHD community8)

Well, here's the secret! IVOAC plans to challenge the Targa Newfoundland race in September 2008 www.targanewfoundland.com
What's more, we are not only challenging the Targa Newfoundland, which is a 2,200KM rally style race on the roads of Newfoundland in the targa class, we're just crazy enough to drive our race car there and back from Vancouver - over 5,000KM each way!!!
It's time to prove to the public that imported vehicles are a force to be reckoned with!!! Do you know anybody else fool enough to trust a 15 year old fully street legal race car to drive them to the opposite coast of North America, run a greuling race and then get them back again?
This is intended as a major public relations event for IVOAC to grab the public's attention - Targa is very pleased to have us, and the media is already showing a lot of interest at this early stage!
The race car is my own personal 1989 R32 Skyline GT-R and will in fact remain my personal daily driver through as much of the build up as possible too (we're doing this on a shoestring, and I think the car can take it!).
The car currently sports a 1996 R33 V Spec RB26DETT motor and Brembo brakes, with R32 Nismo turbos and an assortment of other minor bolt ons. With the addition of fuel injectors and a tune, it can make well over 500 horsepower on pump gas - perhaps as much as 600HP if we get it all right while still maintaining driveability and fuel economy!
We have contacted several potential major sponsors, but we can't count on anybody outside our community - anybody that thinks they know a good sponsor, let them know about the project!
We will beg, borrow, or barter for anything that can help this project along - we are on a shoestring, and used parts are just fine, as long as they work (or can be fixed).
Once again, this event is to raise the profile of our group and thrust us into the public spotlight! The drive out will have scheduled events at every stop to truly bring us together all the way across the country.
Together, we can make this some thing great for imports in general, any and all help is needed and much appreciated!
As soon as we are better organised, there will be a seperate page for the project.
