Allen, couple of things you shouldn't worry about:
-The cores are intact. They're not going to blow up. Since they're wrapped a one-piece jacket they wouldn't be easily perforated by tremors; that's why the surrounding hardware took the bulk of the quake and ruptured.
-As for Iodine, Canada and the US enriches table salt with iodine to mitigate effects from everyday natural radiation, much like our milk is enriched with Vitamin D.
As for the conspiracy theories...I'm not going to bore and annoy everyone with another long post:
-The project was built to tap the ionosphere resonnance to refract data for point to point commucation and surveillance without satellites. It's benign by nature. They're just making a huge AM (but high frequency) radio. Hardly the "HAARP death ray" that some people like to think.
-I can see birds getting FUBAR over test pulses, since some think that they're affected by the magnetosphere (especially for migrating birds).
As for the rest, like the pyramids and such, think about it a bit. In our little lifetime, we have been trying to reverse engineer constructions that took centuries to even concieve. Of course we have no clue how precicely they did it! Let's say you're computer savvy now. Try to reverse engineer a 1950's floor computer with it's mechanical and vacuum based circuitry. There's a particular IBM one that's being restored by one old man, the only person in the world who still knows how, because he remembers how it worked back in the day.
There's languages going instinct each day! Languages we can't even try to decypher!
