  • Lant ensures only if you have 10+ years of driving experience which is for me almost 2 years away. So what else for the rest of us?

I did get a decent quote through Desjardins, but how difficust would it be to pass the appraisal? Would it be easier if the car was imported through one of the JDM importers?

    • desjardins isnt bad...the car just has to be stock lol. my buddys are all on desjardins, but cant have any mods. little things like catback are usually semi ok, anything more than that and theyll pull your policy.

              • Quadracer is probably right, from the language desjardin used when they said the car has to be stock when its appraised.

So does that mean that Felicity is the only choice if you want to legaly modify your car even a little bit? I mean there are cars listed on kijiji that are sometimes up to 500whp or so... where can you ensure these kind of cars?

I believe State Farm will only insure you if you had an existing policy before you had your rhd.
My buddy is insured through them and this is what they told him.

Its called Facility. And yes you can ensure just about anything with them. It is law in Ontario that everyone has to be provided insurance. This is where companies like Facility come in to play. They are the last resort, end all be all of insurance. They charge incredibly high premiums but will take the business when no one else will.
