I was insured through Facility originally, Amy So from North York Insurance. My current company isn't taking on more RHD vehicles (I wanted to get a second RHD vehicle but they won't even do it for an existing policy holder).93 R33 GTST - DD

D1cks.
Right now I'm with Gore Mutual, but when my renewal came up, I called my broker (Cam-Ron Ins) to make sure I was ok and he said that i was cool, but they are not taking any more NEW RHD's right now either. He did say they were doing more research on them, and depending on their "findings", may or may not insure new ones again.

*Edit - If anyone wants to try my broker, give them a call. Talk to Dave Ashdown @ Cam-Ron insurance in Sarnia, On.
He MIGHT know of other companies still accepting us......I stress MIGHT.Last edited by RixR32; 05-29-2011, 10:44 AM.'89 GTST - SOLD

Well it looks light a 'might' is better than nothing! Thanks Rick.
And I dont know how legal it is, but renting a house in another province as a vacation place (parents bought one in FL like this), does that entitle you to register a vehicle at that address?Victory is on the horizon..

I'm 26. My GT-R hasn't been insured for the last year, but before that it was $70 a month.
I just called my (and my dad's) insurance company and tried to get his GT-R insured today. Dominion of canada. Despite being insured with them for nearly 20 years, (me for 10), and having my house and everything with them too, they flat out refused to insure his GT-R and told me that when I get mine back together it won't be insurable either. I'm kinda pissed about it because we had planned on going on a bit of a trip today in it in it's air conditioned awesomeness, and instead have to take my (black) talon with no a/c and blown front shocks. Yay. I'm not sure what to do about it at this point but I'm working on finding a new broker, and hopefully a new company too. Their rates have been going up every year despite my driving record getting cleaner and my age getting older. I pay more for insurance now than when I was 18.Last edited by Terrh; 05-31-2011, 01:49 PM.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag

I retried calling state farm again. I'm 19 and on my dads name for full coverage I got quoted $400 - $600 a month depending on the car (I'm guessing she meant depending on mods and the value of it). Still pretty good but if I were to finance a GTR i'd be paying $1000+ a month for it. That's a big no-no. Keep in mind as stated before they do not insure RHD unless you have been with them for at least 6 months.

You should have the time in now....them, and most collector policies want 10 years driving, a cleanish record, and another car for DD.
If you have the Talon for DD, they should insure the GTR's no problem, especially if you have 2.

Insurance, ownership, license etc....if it is YOUR vehicle.
Again not positive on that...
