Because you live far far away in a small town. The insurance cost a lot more in the big city.

yeah, Im not far off that now thankfully. A couple years back, I was doing some research. If I lived another block east (so the eastside of bayview), I would have lowered my insurance about a third so it just shows you how much it matters.

              • lol yeah I was gonna say, Mallorytown with a population of less than 3000, rates will be cheap. anyone living in the gta, basically hamilton to ajax and toronto to brampton can expect to pay more.

                    • Ya it was hard enough finding insurance for my Pajero, cause it's a daily driver. That window has now closed as far as I know because of the influx of calls my broker got. He insured my truck, and 1 Skyline in town before the company he was using called it quits "to do more research" before insuring any more RHD's.
The company is Gore Mutual, and from what I hear they ARE actually being open minded and looking more into insuring RHD's regularly.
I believe they have been in meetings with some importers (ahem...)

Hopefully all goes well because this whole thing IS getting kinda rediculous.....

                        • there are a bunch of companies that insure right hand drive, you just have to have a clean driving record. from what i've found state farm will only insure you if you have another car insured with them for 6 months prior. i also have friends who used the co operators, dejardans, and allstate.
