  • I've said this once and I'll say it again, this insurance mess in Ontario is almost as bad as a RHD ban altogether.

I say RightDrive should step forward and become an insurance company

"RightDrive Insurance Group" - Great success!

    • I hope you guys calling Lant realize you have to have 10 years experience and ANOTHER VEHICLE AS YOUR DD.
      It's a CLASSIC/COLLECTORS car policy, not DD.
Hopefully nobody fucks this one up for us too.........

And I second RightDrive doing something here, either supporting a new insurance company or starting an insurance "division" or something along those lines.....
Any new company who insures these things would make a killing. All they would have to do is offer a "bring all your business to us and we'll insure your RHD" policy.
      Someone would be rich.

I have to disagree, the RHD population as stated many times before makes us less than 0.1% (If I had to throw a guess out). The risk factor involved opposed to the income/profit made is almost a break even point.

I'm not against it, I would love an insurance company to step up to the plate, but it just doesn't seem like it will happen.

Let me clarify...the way I think they would make the money is from people like me. I brought all my business to my current insurance company because they took my Pajero, and the rates are actually great.
They're now getting the money for that, my wife's car, our house, and before I sold them, my boats.
Thats my thought. Any company that will insure these, would get that persons other business as well, you think?
I think most people who are insuring a RHD have other things to insure as well.
The "youngins" who are only insuring 1 car and thats it, I believe are still the minority with RHD, thus the profits a company would make off of people with more "insurables" should make up for that minority.

                  • Guys, RightDrive will start taking some action very soon, and we will need to collect the names, address and phone numbers of RHD owners who are interested in getting fair insurance.
I'll be able to give you more details soon.

We can't promise that anything will change, but we will give our best effort to make positive change in the industry.

                            • Yes, this thread is no longer accurate. There are newer threads about it, basically your options are very limited and if you do find someone willing to insure you'll be paying out the ass.

                              • I have my GT-R insured with Lant, but it isn't my daily and I have two other vehicles insured with another company. Hopefully that will point someone else in the right direction.
