steve, I'm getting to this pretty late, but I hope the msging we did back and forth was what this comment was about.

It seems I have the WORST situation. I can not afford a decent lawyer, and the one decent one I had found (buddies of my dads personal lawyer from an ugly divorce few years back) is kind of a douche and wont reply any of the msgs I have left on his voice mail or with his secretary... SO, it looks like I will be getting a night job at a grocery store or something, buying a rolling chassis, and then sending both cars up to a shop on the island here called "full metal jacket racing". If the owner of the chassis will tow the car to a mechanic to be checked out (was drifted so I'm unsure on how much life the suspension has left) and passes, all my parts will go into it, including some interior stuff.
Depending on how much this will cost me, I may have the car re-painted silver to match my original one... Thats the plan as of right now, but we will see how it pans out.. it's all depending on if I can score a decent paying night job. Any one know of any openings in the Victoria area that pays roughly $12/hr? I'm looking for monday-thursday nights haha

I have a buddy who had a lot of work done by them, and was pleased for what he paid. As every one knows, you get what you pay for!
He didn't shell out $10,000 nor did he go cheap and pay $3000 for the work that was done... They all seem like a bunch of good guys, and I'm sure I would get a good quality product fir what I want to pay.

I would do it myself if I knew how, and had the garage... Both if which I don't haha

Ok, so after talking to a few lawyers, this is where it stands...
I'm just going to take it in the ass from the police and ICBC...
Every lawyer I have talked to has said I stand a great chance of winning the legal battle, collecting money from ICBC, and not having a criminal charge laid against me; however, with the fact that I can not remember the night 100% and am relying on what my friends have told me, it is a lot easier for the crown to make everything look bad towards me. If that happens, I will be spending roughly $7000 on lawyer fees, etc, with not ending up with a criminal record... That right there is what I put into my car.

As much as this sucks ******* hugest ball sack, I'm not ready to go investing $10,000 (for arguments sake) on lawyers, missing work, and other stuff to still end up with a totaled car sitting in my dads drive way.

First thing's first: Grab a night job and start re-building my baby..

On a completely un-related note, does any one here work at shaw in victoria? I needs internet hooked up at my place by the end of the week!!! Shaw said they would be my apartment at 10am saturday, but showed up at 8:30.. I was obviously still sleeping! I can give you some beer if you hook it up

You should be more concerned with the criminal record then the car.

I want to take it to court, but since I personally can't remember the night and am relying on the word of my friends, I am taking a chance: a $10,000 chance to be exact... having to deal with this ****, and being in the position that I am is killing me, but is the chance of having a criminal record and killing any possibility of leaving the country worth it? In my eyes no...

EkostonS, how do you know Bowes?
I would be getting the sale deal as him actually, a full sponsor ship.
Another option has recently popped up that seems pretty decent. Since I don't have the knowledge, nor the space to attempt a engine+tranny swap, I found some one who could probably do it for me.. but for a price. I don't know if any of you guys know him, but his name is ben, lives in vicwest area or Victoria, and drives a red R32 that has a JDM "R32" license plate attached to his bumper and he could swap that stuff over for me in like a weekend for roughly $200+.
If I go that route, I'll just have Full Metal switch my interior, and all the other little things... This is all just speculation at the moment however, since I still don't have a night job to fund this.

met him awhile back through a buddy, when he first got his gtr,
but the guy that owns fmj was a dicksmack to me when i asked him a question, and wasnt the best business for my buddy, so i dont think id suggest his business to anyone cause of that. poorness towards customers and possible customers doesnt show good work practice in my eyes.

Small update: ICBC called me yesterday asking if I could come down and give them a statement. I didn't want to give them any info over the phone in case it was taken the wrong way, so we set up a time on Tuesday that I will give a verbal statement. After I talk to them, they are going to want to send a estimator to my dads house to look at the car and see if it's worth fixing/ possible to fix.

I'm no licensed Auto body tech, or some one who knows ICBC inside out, so hopefully some one here can shed some light. From the pictures you have seen, is it even possible to have the car fixed cosmetically? All of those body panels would need to be brand new, possibly a new trunk lid, 2 new rims, suspension parts, headlight, bumpers, and FMIC pipes from the looks of it.
Would the repair/ replacement cost of all this be greater then buying the rolling chasis, swapping all the parts over, body work, and inspection?
If it's cheaper, I think I could convince the estimator to say repair it, if I can plead my case to him...

I expect that I would pay ICBC back all of this to keep my insurance premiums at my 20ish% discount.

Let me know what you guys think!

they wrote off my car..definetly fixable but if the damage is over like 40% of what the car is worth they write it off

I dont think your damage is over 40% on the cars value..

ive seen a skyline written off for far far less damage than what you have... i can almost guarantee you that your car will be written off (unless they have different practices down there than they do in the interior)
